I have a few vb apps in place.  My latest one of works in vb 2022 but fails when when I install it in on another computer. I recently was part of a discussion regarding the use of parenthesis with a SELECT statement. My understanding was that parenthesis were not evaluated with respect to AND and OR logic. Is that correct? Looking in the online documentation, the only mention (that I could find) regarding parenthesis use was in relation to OPTIONS. Specifically the the open parenthesis indicated the beginning of an OPTIONS clause and that a close parenthesis could be used to end the clause and that the OPTIONS clause should always be at the end of the statement. If that is the only allowed use for parenthesis then: Why are parenthesis allowed to be used at all in a SELECT statement as follows:SELECT FILE WITH 1 EQ "ABC" AND ( WITH 2 EQ "123" OR WITH 3 EQ "XYZ" )This command executes without an error? Using a file with the following records: TEST..... A1....... A2... 100        A         1200        A         2300    

I am trying to create a new distributed file. I am on a Linux Red Hat version 7 running universe 11.3.5 I tried running this command DEFINE.DF DATA CSA.TRIPPER.CENSUS ADDING CTC1 1 CTC2 2 CTC3 3 CTC4 4 CTC5 5 INTERNAL PARTNOUnable to open DICT "". CSA.TRIPPER.CENSUS is a type 18 file that has existing data. I created the CTC1 - 5 files all type 18 the PARTNO is in the DICT of CSA.TRIPPER.CENSUS 0001: I0002: MOD(SEQ(@ID[LEN(@ID),1]),5)+10003:0004: Partno0005: 6R0006: S When I list CSA.TRIPPER.CENSUS PARTNO the part number is listing 1 through 5    1276225      4   1730044      3   2032590      4   2183863      2   2637682      1   2940228      2   3091501      5   3394047      1 What am I doing wrong? I have been successful in compiling a large cobol program using this beta version of AcuGT. I am trying to generate the output code so that it will work with an older runtime. Previously, I have used the compiler option -Z21 to generate a file that would run with version 2.1 of the runtime.  Similarly -Z43 for version 4.3 The documentation provided with the version (11.0.0.0) indicates that this option -Znn is available. However, when I include it in a command line edit command, I get an error message: Warning: Option -Znn (nn < 80) is obsolete and is ignored Is there any alternative to this parameter for older runtimes? Can any one  help, with  the  "RUNTIME COMPILER"   variables   needed for this command  ( I have the registration/licence  number )  Usage: RMUCUTIL xx-aaaa-sssss-nnnn {RUNTIME | COMPILER} [DETAILS] or: RMUCUTIL OSTYPE [DETAILS]   All my best guesses, do not work. I can not find, a practical example on where to get the variables. I am running on this  a Red hat 64 bit linux, that went  into production  last weekend. Has twice recorded  "Error invoking unauthorized copy of runtime.  AH01215: Use count exceeded (Loc 813) "  on apache processes Cobol locks after recording  the error.   A  manual count of the Cobol processes in use (  ps  | grep runcobol | wc -l) ,  is well under  the licence count  purchased.       

Wise ones, Is there a way to prevent UDOWrite converting large numbers into scientific format? We have a file generated in MFED where the file contains X , 9 and COMP-3 data. When we looked at them thru data tools , it looks good. But , when we transfer the file to IBM mainframes (used both ASCII and BI ) , it's not looking like a usable file. We have the dialect as ASCII . I have an Access database that currently connects to the SQLDEMO tables. That's great. When I look at the server running D3, I see the SQLDEMO folder in the D3Databases folder. Fine So now I want to connect to some live data. Specifically the inventory tables. I have lots of documentation, but I can't seem to find the steps to make the tables visible to my odbc dsn. The folder I think I am after is the MISPR folder. If I'm correct, how do I get access to the values in the tables? Hello Rocket Community, This message is geared towards our ChangeMan ZMF users. It has been a longer process than we anticipated, but we now have the Ideas (Enhancements) portal available. This is a different portal than what we had under Micro Focus and Open Text and as such the former Ideas needed to be migrated from the prior portal to new portal that Rocket Software uses. Unfortunately, many of userids attached to the Ideas were not migrated. When possible, the original author's userid were appended to the description. Also, because the Ideas portal is different from the ChangeMan ZMF Community Forum it will require a new registration and it's a different link: Rocket Software Customer Ideas Portal We have been able to add a link from the ChangeMan ZMF Community Forum page on the right-hand panel (Ideas and Enhancements), which will bring you to the new Rocket Ideas Portal for ChangeMan ZMF.
