I'm working on connecting a Visual COBOL application using an ODBC driver, and we want the driver to recognize that the request is specifically coming from a Visual COBOL program. Is there any standard way to achieve this? For example, does Visual COBOL use any common executable file that the driver can detect to identify the source of the call? Today, we experienced slowdowns in a production environment in the processes running there. We investigated the reason for this loss of performance and found that during the execution of one of the components, an excessive call was made to the thread_stmystate_fast function. Memory addresses were assigned more times than the process requires. This application was running on an earlier OS version, and there, the calls to this function were much lower, which did not cause any slowdowns in the process. I appreciate any guidance you can provide to resolve this error. One of our customers is attempting to get CE+ security certification, and they are failing because the tomcat released with 10.4 has a vulerability.  They need to be updated to Tomcat 10.1.43.  Anyone able to tell me if they've done this on their Uniface Install? I have a subroutine that is compiled and cataloged. It gets call by some phantom processes. Periodically a phantom process dies because it cannot load the subroutine. What else can prevent universe from loading the subroutine besides not being compiled and cataloged? Update to the original post:  I have found the error for a common size mismatch but I am not sure why because it will run for hours processing many records without an issue.

Before upgrading 10.4.0 or earlier versions of D3 Windows, shut down and do a "standard" uninstall of D3. This will leave all of your data and Device Manager settings in place. This is necessary because of a bug in the 10.4.0.1 installer which will not allow installation of the D3 services once the upgrade is complete.------------------------------Brian S.
