In our dockerbuild file, we are installing the visual cobol setup for docker and installing the license.# installing Cobol Devhub and LicenseRUN /opt/DevHub/setup_visualcobol_devhub_for_docker_8.0_redhat_x64 -IacceptEULARUN /var/microfocuslicensing/bin/MFLicenseAdmin -install /opt/Licenses/VC1_Visual_COBOL_Linux_Docker.mflic As root , it is able to run cob -u.  But when we switch to another user ,  we are getting a no license error.This container used to work on a RHEL7 host, but when we moved the container to a RHEL8 host, that is where we started getting the license error.------------------------------Aldous CarlosRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

Hi, I'm having problems with installing UV14 in a RockyLinux:latest container. I'm using the unmodified Compose build from https://github.com/RocketSoftware/multivalue-containers It consistently gives a shared memory violation during installation after the "Installing default Basic Global catalog" message.  Then you get the following in the log when UV attempts to start: Starting UniVerse...UVSMM is started.Starting uvsm...Unirpcd is started.Loading rfsconfig information.Error when attaching shm (0, 268435456, 0), errno=22Couldn't start uvcleanupd daemon.Please check /usr/uv/uvcleanupd.log and /usr/uv/uvcleanupd.errlogUniVerse startup is aborting. Of the versions I've tried, this failure happens for 12.2.1, 14.1 and 14.2.1.beta. UV11.4.1 is okay and consistently gives good installs. Upgrade from 11 -> 14 is also good. I'm taking from comments in this thread that there should be no difference using a container as any other form of virtualisation. Has anyone else had this issue? Chee

Hello, I'm trying to write a JCL to pull the infomation from the DLOG MTD file and sort it out into a ZEKE AUDIT REPORT.  Since we're moving to the new DLOG, It's not generating the output that i wanted. Hi all,  We are having a problem with our Crystal reports 9.2 after upgrading/imported our system from Uniface 9.7 to 10.3. We can not even open a form with an ocx widget connecte to the CRViewer9.CRViewer ocx. I originally posted this in August of 2022. I'm reposting because 1) it's getting closer to 2030, and 2) I've had a few support cases asking about this issue. Everyone out there know about D3's SET-DATE-WINDOW utility? It's something you can add to your cold start procedure to change the 2-digit year pivot point from 30 to something else. Example if you ICONV a date like 8/1/31, you'll get an internal date in the year 1931, not 2031 as you might expect. I have this in my USER-COLDSTART: SET-DATE-WINDOW 60 This tells my D3 system to assume that any two-digit years from 00 to 59 are 2000 to 2059, where 60 to 99 are 1960 to 1999. This is a LOT handier than handling it in your application. I'm posting this because there's a lot of useful stuff in D3 that I was unaware of until I became a Rocket employee and was actually forced to read the manual. Can anyone suggest a video showing how to use a simple HELLO WORLD program in Visual Basic that can be executed and run in Visual Studio Code? I installed the Java JDK as instructed by the Rocket extension but when I run the program it keeps asking me to install the extension (even though the Rocket extension shows as already installed). My simple test program has a suffix of '.vb' but the Rocket instructions said it must be '.b'. Does that mean the extension is only for BASIC and not for VISUAL BASIC programs?!? When I did change my simple program's extension from '.vb' to '.b', I received this message from VSC which I don't understand or know how to correct: Java 11 or Open JDK 11 runtime environment is irregular. Please check your Java environment and settings. Hallo, I have a question regarding the security checks in CMN.  Situation is like this : We created a packages, could add content, add and freeze the package ....  However we could not approve the package. We had a miss configuration  in application administration of CMN (wrong security entity linked to the Approver setup).  But after correction .... it still failed to approve .....  Only after creating a new package (after changing the application administration) we were able to approve that (newly) package.  Does this means that when creating the package somehow these security entities are linked/saved in the package configuration and checked "locally" and not fetched via Admin configuration ?  Or how should we deal with this ? Kind regards,Wim Priem------------------------------Wim PriemKbc GroupeBrussel BE------------------------------

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with installing gzip user Miniconda under the /bin directory. After the installation, I noticed that both gunzip and gzip are available in the /bin directory. However, I've encountered an interesting behavior: to unzip a file using gunzip , I need to initiate a bash interactive shell with the command bash -i , after which I can successfully use gunzip filename.txt.gz to unzip the file. On the other hand, I can use gzip -d filename.txt.gz to unzip the file without needing to enter the interactive shell. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, do you have any insights or solutions to avoid using bash -i for gunzip? I would appreciate any advice or tips! Hello, I am currently working on creating a CentOS Steam 10 installation (latest) with the latest version of UV available as of this post (14.1.1.xx) The installation runs but there are many errors that complain about EGREP not being supported so grep -E is automatically being substituted and after the installation gets to "Installing default Global Basic..." there are thousands of VOC LIB errors. Some things that I learned from the installation is that libnsl and libxcrypt-compat are required to even begin it. Perhaps there are other requirements that are not listed in the basic docs that are "assumed" to be installed on a from scratch OS installation that I need to install? Just want to cover my basis before reverting down one level (CentOS Stream 9) due to the installer just not working. Usually, it's a me problem :) Thank you in advance!

Hello - I'm running the debugger on a unidata program and need to set a variable to null. I remember there is a way to do this but do not remember how. I know you can always set a variable to a value through the \\ command...but to set to null. I'm remembering something like save or sv...can't quite remember.  Can anyone help here? Hi Team, We have several customers in APAC who are actively paying yearly maintenance renewals, however, they are in unsupported versions (as low as version 3). We have now at least 2 customers (both in version 3) who are planning to upgrade to the latest version and asking how licensing will work during the upgrade process/project, which, depending on the complexity of the application may take 3 to 9 months. Our sales and presales team are divided on how to approach this. Sales, of course wants some license revenue out of this. To resolve, we found this link Micro Focus Business Support Agreement to guide us on the proper resolution. Based from this, we found the below statements: Highlighted in yellow, there is a clause that the current version that customer is using should not extend beyond the 'End of Support' period of that version. In this case the current version under support is only v7 till v10, so v3 is already end of support even if they are paying maintenance for the entit

Greetings, all!Environment - UV 11.3.5 on AIX 7.2 Whenever we stop and restart UV, the current logs in $uvhome get saved into the $uvhome/saved_logs folder.  It's not just a straight copy, though.  It appears that the current values get appended to the end of the respective files that were already in saved_logs, but it also appears that some of the information from the front ends of the existing saved_logs files gets removed.  Is there documentation somewhere that says how these files are managed?  Are each of the log files handled the same, or is each managed according to its own unique set of rules?  Are these rules configurable by us? Some of these files can get fairly large, so we're looking to be able to predict/manage what is going to happen, as well as ensure the sizing of the associated filesystem is correct.Thank you!------------------------------Brian Paige------------------------------

We are upgrading from V827 to V831. (And I might add without Lalitha who is out on extended leave...) We have completed the code merges for our customizations applied to the upgraded skels/panels/REXX/messages. However, when we tested a build, our loadlib was not included in the concatenation. We have resolved that specific issue (updating the CMN$$JBL skel to include it for our &ZMFCTST), but that led us to ask the question "Are we doing customizations correctly?" We can continue to plow through comparing pre-upgrade skels to post-upgrade, but wonder if there is a better approach. Is it possible to get an hour consultation on upgrading to V831? We have followed the migration guide, and have a conversion-day playbook that we followed. How can I install NetExpress 5.1 on Windows 11?  When I try I get an error message "Error 2878.  On the dialog PreReqs the control PreReqList has a possible value:  Either Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 or later, Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or later, Microsoft Windows 2003 Ser ..." Do I need a new version of the software - and if so where do I get it from?  Or is there a way of cheating the system by copying a few files from an XP or Windows 7 PC onto the Windows 11 PC? I am assuming it is possible to run NetExpress 5.1 development IDE on Windows 11?
