Our challenge is to create a scheduled shutdown procedure that will support out of hours Windows Server Patching Shutdowns & Reboots. Hello, we use a list as an input parameter (type string) to call a function in Postgre via SSP. While testing I found out that the list has a length limit of 254 characters. If I call the function direct in pgAdmin much longer strings can used as parameter. Is this this a known limitation? Is there a setting to raise this limit? TiA! I looked this up in the tutorials, but it only explains how to create an entity in a project.  Since projects are new for us legacy users, how do I create an entity outside of a project?  ( am trying to access the documentation website but right now having issues with my credentials). Been using basic Wintegrate for a long time. Now, I would like to construct some GUI screens but cannot locate the designer tool. Is is still out there? If so, where can I look? I've already scanned all of the manuals cannot find a reference as to where to find it (i.e. how to start it. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

We have a number of distributed files that are keyed off an internal date in the key. So, every year, we need to create new part files and update the @PART.ALGORITHM.  I think this year will push the count to over 80 part files across about a dozen distributed files. I've inherited the existing process, but I wanted to see what other folks are doing, or if there is an established "best practices" for adding new part files to a distributed file. Hi all I'm trying to replicate some legacy code using uopy, but I've found an issue that's hard to solve. This is a LONG process, both server and local side, so timeouts may appear. Using the older UVIC32.dll code we can simply reconnect to a session after it has been closed by the server. But, after health_check returns false to uopy I can't reconnect to the server, and the connect() method is not connecting. Is there a way to do this?

Edit for posterity: Windows 11 runs Viaduct just fine. I'm not sure what went wrong on the first install, but after uninstalling and reinstalling it works. Have also installed on a second PC, which is also running fine. Our office uses Viaduct 2000 installed on Windows 10 to access the D3 instance on the server. I know there's newer and better emulators out there but it's always worked for us and we've never had a need to for anything else. With W10 support coming to an end and needing to upgrade to Windows 11, I tried installing Viaduct on a PC with Windows 11. It installed fine, but when I try to open it, it just has an error message.  My question is, are any of you running Viaduct on Windows 11? Hey All, I'm trying to create a python script which can be called from a BP program (use PyCallFunction or the like) which will log to fluentd. I have something which works on the first run of the BP program, but crashes on the second call. I've tried setting REINIT.PYTHON OFF, but no luck. This is on UV 11.4.1 and my python requirements

We have certain entities that we use like templates - all the code we need is in the entity. In the past, I could remove unused procs in the entity, once it was painted on the form. I did that in 10.4.2 and ACK - I actually removed it from the ENTITY.  Not what I wanted to do. Hi, I'm still pretty new in Uniface coding and I don't reach to solve a problem that is maybe really simple. I have an editboxlong field defined in several forms, sometimes in grids, sometimes not. For one of these grids which is a search form, I need to change the behaviour of the field so that once a have type a value in it and pressed the enter button, I start a trigger instead of going on a new line.I thought I could do it with $properties("fieldname") =  "multiline=false" in the a sub_entry in the exec operation of the form but unfortunately, the behaviour remains the same : the cursor goes on a new line instead of having the search launched. Of ourse, I could go in the property window of the field in the form and uncheck the checkbox of the multiline property. But actually, I'm looking for a standard solution for all search forms that is applied in the coding. Does anybody has an idea of why the behaviour doesn't change and what I could do to et the expected result? Thanks in ad

Is it possible to use a database connector string in a Uniface assignment file that utilizes SSPI and thereby eliminate the need for credentials in the assignment file? I am aware that I can use question marks in the connector string which will then prompt for credentials or that I can use pathscrambler to obfuscate credentials, however I am specifically looking for the ability to use the credentials of the logged in user without having to prompt for them or to embed the credentials (albeit obfuscated) of a single user in the assignment file. An example connection string from someone who has done this successfully would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any experience transitioning from Vmsphere to HyperV for hosting the server processes of UNiface?  One of our customers is trying to change to new servers from windows servers on Vmsphere to ones running on HyperV.  Tests indicate the processes are slower to start/run on the HyperV and they are suggesting this is something Uniface/we should 'fix', but I wouldn't know where to start.  Regards,  Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------
