We are getting this error when trying to connect to Unidata via a web service: [U2][UCINET-UO][ErrorCode=39129] How do I troubleshoot this error, any leads? André Guindon

I finished my contract last week, so back on the market. I landed an interview with a "recognizable company" and went straight to the final round. During the interview one of the panel asked me, "How do you read a file without a select list?" I paused for a moment wondering why anyone would need to do that?  I thought for a moment and came to the conclusion, it may be possible, but I cannot think of how it could be done. I responded to him, "In the twenty years I've worked in multivalue, I have never seen any code that would do that. But I don't ever recall ever having the need". Is it possible?  Does anyone have an example?Added:  This person meant without using SELECT anywhere. At TCL or internally in a program. Hi, in our application I need to implement reading xml from the folder and then I need to check if the xml is correct. I found the xmlToStruct command. Do you have any example how to use it? First of all what is the best way to read xml and then how the xmltostruct should be used with the xsd schema which is local file in my folder.  My xml files will be some where between 1MB to 30MB. Are there any other better (more efficient) ways how to do it?  Is it possible to use 3rd party libraries (C, C++, C#, Java) for this goal? If so do you have experience which one is ok and how it can be used in Uniface? Hello!! I have build the visual cobol function successfully and placed the executable file in the program main folder(where the project and solution files available). I have created a batch file in the project main folder and added the executable file name at the end. When I run the batch file getting below error message, Load error : file 'csqlsupp'error code: 173, pc=0, call=1, seg=0173 error message text not found Could you please help me to understand the error and how to solve the error. Hi, i would like to query a bunch of tables to see if the indexes have been built I tried LIST-INDEX <FILENAME>.  But it seems to require a <return> if the page is too long. Hello!! I'm new to Visual Cobol for Visual Studio 2022 and trying to upgrade the existing Cobol program which was developed on Net Express long years back to Visual Cobol 9.0. I just imported the program into Visual Studio 2022 and trying to build it. I would like to see compile listing (Expanded copybook, subroutine, Include statements, Embedded SQLs) of each COBOL program as .lis (extension) or .lst similar in Visual Cobol 9.0 and above VS 2022. Normally, Micro Focus under Linux/Unix net Express environment generate the .lis file upon successful compilation.

In the process of testing one of our Uniface apps under upgraded version 10.4, I received the following error message: Unable to load useqread.dll; error 193 ('System or I/O error 193 occurred.') The dll is listed in the [USER_3GL] section of the assignment file and the app works fine in version 10.3. Any idea as to what might be happening? What is the best way to open a website from a unface desktop frm ...  My method is to create a batch file(1.bat) with the text start https:\\mysite.com, and then activate an OS service which runs the created batch file. Im thinking there may be a better method. The problem I am having is that the website url has % in it, and the os service seems to be removing the percents in the case of opening a web site(not in the case of a dos command)... ex: https:\\mysite.com?myvar=%1% So, my problem is how to open a website via a uniface desktop application that contains %'s------------------------------Osman Shariff------------------------------

I have a program coded for reading a record from a MS SQL Server database Table.  When I step through the code in debug mode it lands on the EXEC SQL statement and when I step again it lands outside of the EXEC SQL/END-EXEC structure. It looks as though none of the statements inside this structure are executing.  Is this normal?  If it is, is there a way to step through this structure to observe the back end process?  I'm not returning the record from my SQL  query and need to figure out why. My database and table are able to display in the 'Server Explorer' of Visual Studio. The database object is not displayed in the Solution Explorer. I thought maybe it would be something that would help with MVBasic but it seems to be broken and won't install. I get an error that it cant open ".vscode/extensions/rocketsoftwarebeta.rocket-copilot-10.4.0/walkthroughs/getting-started/Git/start-rocket-CoPilot-for-git.md". I checked for the file and it's not there. There a similar one named "start-rocket-devops-for-git.md".  The extension says it's beta but it looks pretty alpha to me. Shouldn't someone at least try it before putting it in the VS code marketplace? It looks bad. Hi All,  Has anyone out there interfaced between OPC-UA and Uniface? I'm not sure I know enough to know if this is a dumb question or not, but... Has anyone attempted to make the MV Basic for VS Code plugin function with an Eclipse (the ERP system built on top of Universe, not the IDE)? Would that require customization to work with "Eclipse syntax"? I was wondering if anyone else had run into this before. If someone copies characters from a Word document and then pastes into an editbox, sometimes Uniface returns an error message or it will store it as some weird character. I have seen this countless times over the decades and have always just coded it using the $format and $replace in the formatFromDisplay trigger. Has anyone else run into the same type of thing and if so, did you come up with a way to convert any CP-1252 character to a UTF-8? Here's a quick example of how I currently resolve this on a case-by-case basis. These are the "smart" quotes that Word puts in automatically while you type. i have FCService running ok on our almalinux 9.4 server, but i notice its binding to 0.0.0.0 which i'm sure is ideal when your D3 & Flashconnect are running on separate hardware. in our case they're on the same physical box, so i'd prefer if I could get FCService to bind to 127.0.0.1 instead. (like TLLicMgr does) is this possible? can i use something like a bind: command in flashconnect.conf? or maybe the port statement, instead of port 1505 would port 127.0.0.1:1505 work? thanks in advance!
