Hi everyone,   I have a client with a successful D3 10.3 Linux installation who needs to meet auditing requirements by testing their Disaster Recovery (DR) procedure. The DR test is an annual event where they spin up a Linux server with a D3 instance and restore their database and applications.   Rocket's policy, as outlined in the Rocket MV End User Handbook (page 28), states that when running D3 in a High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) setup, matching licenses with unique serial numbers and identical configurations are required. This includes scenarios like using U2 Replication or any secondary mechanisms for failover, all of which need additional licenses.   My client is resistant to replicating their D3 Production environment and is also hesitant about the alternative solution of maintaining a separate D3 machine with minimal configuration. They’ve pointed out that Oracle allows a separate server setup "for the duration of their DR testing" free of charge. &n

Some things I'd like to see. Ability to manage (view/edit/git) MV source that exists in hashed files - VOC, Dicts, etc. (maybe like the SQLTools extension). Code folding support. Option to format document so auto code block folding works. eg PROGRAM/SUBROUTINE, labels and RETURNs are hard left, comments and everything else indented to a minimum of the default margin, etc. Fix use of code folding markers [this can be manually set but something is interfering]. Set default markers - eg !!#region...!!#endregion Addon for xterm.js (vscode shell and ssh emulator) to support [some] SB+ character mode customisations (term type 2). Is it possible to write COBOL code that will print text (not on the screen but to an actual printer) in a specific font. For example, is it possible to write code that will print to my printer the line “Test 1” in sans-serif or in any other font that I choose? I am able to print bold text on my printer with the WRITE statement, but I simply do not know how to print text in a specific font with a COBOL command. I am using Visual COBOL v9 on a Windows 10 pro. Thanks in advance.

I am developing a COBOL application that will print checks. The application creates an .asc file containing the HP PCL printer language with all the information, including font type and size, that will be printed on the check. However, I am having a difficult time with the routing and account number line. More specifically, I am unable to print the routing and account number in the IDAutomation MICR font, which is the standard font used to print the routing and account number on checks. It instead prints in regular font.  I should mention that I print the .asc file through File\\print in Notepadd++ and not through the COBOL application. To be clear, the font is installed on the computer, and I am able to print a word document with said font. I installed Micro Focus COBOL for Visual Studio 2022. Everything is working except for when I push the enter key in a COBOL file. I get an error popup that says "The operation could not be completed. Unspecified error." I have reinstalled COBOL but the issue is still persisting.

Good morning, Error 9020 - Data fetch error has been occurring at one of our clients since the client performed, completely independently, an Oracle version upgrade from Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production to Oracle Database 12c Standard Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production. A client 11.2, a U7 driver with Uniface 9.7 is used. The tables on which the error occurs have a field of type timestamp(6) in the key, and specifically the error occurs when microseconds are valued at zero. I would like to find, if possible, an application solution since telling the client to make changes to the db configuration is impossible.   Could you give me some suggestions? Hi Uniface, with Uniface 10.4.02 the timestamp fileds are back in the repository for all tables. This was the wish of the community users. After 2 years the new fields have still the value NULL. For me it looks like this should be a kind of "copy and paste" to fill this timestamp fields. If you habe 5 Procs changed in UPRC and export and import one of them from development to production, then the timestamps in ULIBPRC for development and production are identical. No chance to see that there are 4 more Procs that have to be transported from development to production. When will those fields be filled with life? Using a BASIC program, I need to read filenames and file dates from an AIX directory and compare them with names and dates held in UniVerse records. If the files are present among the UniVerse records then they need to be moved out of the directory and more files added from another directory. Any advice or code snippets much appreciated.
