I am trying to get into the debugger in a program by typing the break key using <ctrl-c>, but all it does is print ^C.  I did BREAK ON before running the program. Is there a different key that needs to be used or how do I break to get into the debugger?

Troy,What terminal emulator are you using? Many of them intercept the CTRL-C key sequence thinking you want to use it for cut and paste. If it looks like all the settings in UV are correct, check the emulator settings.Brian

We're migrating from an old big-endian Solaris compiler (compiler version 5.1.4.0) to VC 9.0.0.59 (patch update 2) on little-endian Linux. We're seeing an extra leading zero on fields defined as COMP.  This field: 03 ct-read pic 9(07) comp value 0. will display as an 8 digit number (not 7 as defined) on Linux: 07754589 On Solaris, it would display as: 7754589 The field is displayed directly using a DISPLAY statement. Compiler options for both platforms are: NOBOUND NOALTER COMP NOCHECK NOCHECKDIV NOTRUNC OPT=3 FASTLINK NOANIM NOCOBIDY OPTSPEED Changing NOTRUNC to TRUNC on Linux results in a completely different number being displayed (using the same static input files): 4531805 Removing both compiler directives COMP and NOTRUNC also removes the leading zero from the display on Linux: 7754589 As part of the migration, we would of course like the output of all of our programs to be the same on both platforms. Hi, We currently upgraded AcuCobol 10.5 to 10.5.1. We are using NPOI to create .xlsx files (Spreadsheets) through a .dll. For run time 10.5, this feature was functioning perfectly. However, after the upgrade to 10.5.1, the .xlsx is not getting generated. The following lines in .dll is saving the .xlsx. using (FileStream fileSave = new FileStream(xlsFilename, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write)) { workbook.Write(fileSave); fileSave.Flush(); } It seems to me that the workbook.write has failed. However, no exceptions were displayed. We tried running the program in administrator mode too. It looks to me like some configuration changes need to be done.Could you please help me with this issue. Got a new HP Envy Laptop that I can not figure out waht key combinations to get the BREAK Key for debugging. My old Elitebook was just use the FN + R to send the break key. I talked to HP and they could not answer me unless I went to Level 2 support with a charge. So, does anyone know if I can remap a key somehow via a 2019 server to send a break key. Or can I change the debug somehow to use a different key combination. Any advice would be helpfull As i will try it.

Good morning, I have a system that uses the terminal type "VT220".  A couple of reports that I offer the option of either display or printer require 132 columns to display.  I use the ESC:"[?3h" command to do this expansion and it works fine.  At the end of the report when I attempt to reset the display to 80 columns by issiuing the ESC:"[?3l" command it does not work.  The screen stays in 132 column mode.  Does anybody know how to get the screen back to 80 columns?  The emulator is AccuTerm 8. Hi, We are currently upgrading from 10.3 to 10.4 version of Uniface. And there  is an issue with glypes. The glyps are shown in the first screen and in the next scren it is not visible. We found a patch UNI-28434 (Rocket Uniface Support Resources) but the workaround is stil not working. Have you also experienced this issue and what is the solution? Hi, At our company our developers can have IDz and EDz installed on the same pc. In Idz we use AWM and related license software. This license software is the same as the one included in EDz. In IDz license software version has to be added manually to install package. In EDz license software version is part of EDz install (not managed by ourselves) Beside the client installation of License software there is also an installed version on server (used by IDz and EDz) where we have uploaded the corresponding license files Until now the version of the license software in the IDz package was never higher than the license software version of EDz Now we want to upgrade IDz from version 15.0.3 to version 16.0.3 so it seems we need to upgrade to AWM version 9 and related license software version v10000.3.19282  (= pu1 op 319272) We have no intention to upgrade EDz at this time.   Version of license software:   Current situation To Be situation License server v10000.

Hi All, I have just upgraded from Accuterm 7 to Accuterm 8.1 I am currently having issues with opening multiple instances of Accuterm. I have 2 sessions saved to my desktop. I open the first session with no issue, on attempting to open the second session, the system reverts to the current open session of Accuterm. On the previous version of Accuterm, 2 separate windows would have opened. In the settings I have checked the option to 'open sessions in new window' any suggestions? thanks George.

Good day, I'm trying to understand the basics of the D3 environment. Mostly clueless, but not afraid. I'm a 30+ IT person. Started coding in C in early 80's. We currently handle all aspects of networks, integration etc. Have no experience with Pick, want to get up to speed on terminology, best practice environment etc. To start: Application uses Accuterm to connect.I believe D3 is running on the MultiValue environment. It is running on a Windows 2008 server.These folders exist:C:\\ProgramData\\RocketSoftware\\D3C:\\Program Files\\RocketSoftware\\D3C:\\Program Files (x86)\\RocketSoftware\\D3ODBC Our support is provided via Nexustek, but certain tasks, I want to handle and understand. Modifying printer queues. I believe this is handled in COLDSTART Understanding the ODBC connect. I can connect to SQLDEMO, but don't know how to access the live tables. I have some basic environment questions. What version are we running? How do I find out? Best way to connect and play..putty, Accuterm?

Have you ever wondered what the CMNBILOD program that is executed in a number of distributed build procedures actually does? Which input/output DD statements may be specified for use by the CMNBKRST unload/load/forward recovery utility? The JCL parameters that can be supplied to the SERCOPY enhanced copy program? Or anything else related to any of the generic utility programs supplied with the ChangeMan ZMF product? If so, your first port of call should be the Utilities section of the ChangeMan ZMF Customization Guide. All, I was wondering... I have worked at many large UniVerse/UniData customers in my career. Some companies do a great job of certain facets of IT. I was thinking about contacting them to see if they would be open the a site visit. I realized that there could be proprietary secrets exposed during the site visit. After all I would not want to show someone around without some assurances that what they saw would be in essence 'What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas'. Do you think there would be a way to display the best attributes of your IT shop without giving away the goods? Hi Unifacers, I am facing with regular issues about opening files from Uniface application on our Windows Server 2019 file server. This file server is serving 100+ users not only for Uniface but also for other applications. I am currently looking into Uniface config while later I'll take a look to Windows system config, either on client and server. As for Uniface: $max_files is currently NOT defined in our ASN file. I suppose it define the maximum number of file simultaneously open in each Uniface session.Considering our users are used to have 2 Uniface sessions opened simultaneously, it means they can open with Uniface on their Windows system a total of $max_files * 2 files, while our shared file server can be put in charge for a maximum of 100 * $max_files * 2 files. Normally, we use the Enterprise Edition Uniface 9705. I need access to the CE version so I can continue testing and back up my data.
