In pre-production DC-DR systems, we did a test of workload switchover this weekend.  We started with restoring from tape updated app DB libraries from UAT over the existing app DB in DC system while iCluster replication group is stopped (both nodes still active).  When the restore was finished, I ran DMMRKPOS  and started the group back with USEMARKED(*YES)  because  I wanted to test Sync Check function to do the replication in this case. Then I ran Sync Check *FULL at primary node and saw more than 3,000 out-of-sync objects reported. Then I manually ran OOS Activation to replicate to backup node during the night time.     The next morning, we let a few test users enter some app transactions into DC node and when they finished, I checked that I saw no pending change application and we did iCluster and application workload switchover to DR node and users tested various app functions and surprisingly found that many functions encountered errors.  Then the app team member displayed some

Hello  When I create a replication group for the first time and use wildcard for INCLUDE spec such as library = XYZA3* (with *ALL for object name and type), I see that iCluster retrieves all corresponding library names into the INCLUDE list for me to save my time and the entry XYZA3* also remains in the list.   I ask the local iCluster specialist if I should leave the entry XYZA3* in the list and the answer is that if I leave it, any subsequent new libraries that match this wildcard name will be added automatically to the replication group without having to restart the replication group. (Sound nice!) This should imply that if I remove this wildcard entry from the group, I have to manually add the new libraries that match this wildcard name by myself in the future into the replication group definition.  I did a Google search to try to find any formal information from iClsuter web site to confirm this statement but was not able to find any.   I would appreciate any response to confirm

Hi, I'm new to SB+ development so please excuse any ignorant questions. I'm trying to amend a screen to: Add a field that should be forced to 'N' unless 2 prior entered fields have particular values. If the prior fields meet the conditions the user should be able to optionally change the value to 'Y' If the prior fields don't meet the condition the user should not be able to change the value. What would be the cleanest/best practice way to achieve this? Regards, Jonathan

iCluster 9.1.0 in IBM i 7.4 with mostly latest PTF groups.  I first ran DMSTRSC *FULL with OUTPUT(*NONE) at DC system. There were more than 3,000 objects that were reported to be out of sync and I activated them all to DR system. Then 2 days later, I ran DMSTRSC *CHECKSUM with OUTPUT(*ALL) and saw there were about 250 out-of-sync objects that were activated to DR as well.  But this time, I wanted to see the Sync Check report and I ran DMSCRPT  with DETAILS(*YES) at DR node. Once iCluster nodes are configured using a specific IP address, they will continue to use this IP address, however what if your network changes? How do you change the IP address used by iCluster? Luckily there is a TechNote on how to perform this procedure:   How do I change the IP Address of my node? Answer:            Stop all groups that use the node whose IP address is going to be changed by running the command DMENDGRP—End Cluster Operations for Group   From an active Node (e.g. Node Alpha), run the DMCHGNODE command specifying the Node name and the new I.P. address for the Node whose I.P. address has been changed. The node you are changing (Node Beta) must be active when you run this command. Periodically I have to transfer a single file, usually .txt, from D3 to the Desktop. There is a function in SB+ to do this to a Windows Desktop environment, but I want to transfer the file to a Linux Desktop. I have looked at scp, but can't quite understand the source path from the D3 partition. Any ideas or other suggestions welcome. Once I get it working, I intend to establish it as a script in SB+ to be used multiple times. Thanks. Does anyone know what this error is telling me? I see this error come up from time to time and I am not sure what the problem really is. This is Unidata 7.2.9 running on Centos 5.4.  Line 83 of MAIN.PROGRAM is an include, so I find it challenging to find out what it is actually doing when that error hits.  If I step through in the debugger, when it gets to the INCLUDE line it prompts me for the file name where the INCLUDE source resides. When I give it the file name it says that it is not a directory file when it actually is. It won't display the source then.

First I read from the help info that adding EXCLUDE spec can  be done only when the replication group is ended and I will do that.  The INCLUDE spec of an existing replication group looks simply like this :  Opt  Group       Inc  Object      Type        Library     Attr       GRPU3       INC  *ALL        *ALL        LIBA        *ALL       GRPU3       INC  *ALL        *ALL        LIBB        *ALL       GRPU3       INC  *ALL        *ALL        LIBC        *ALL There are about 30 libraries in all.   Now I want to add that ALL data queue objects in all these 30 libraries are to be excluded from replication.   The question is whether I can add only one entry for   EXC  Object=*ALL  TYPE=*DTAQ  Library=*ALL  Attr=*ALL  ?      (I was hoping I do not have to add 30 entries, each for each library but I cannot find any help info on this). If the answer is yes,  I hope I can add more of a single exclude entry like this for each object type for all libraries that I do not want to be replicated i

Hello, I want to get the properties applied on a field, but the $fieldproperties function only allow me to get the properties that have been specified in PropertyList (by proc code) I want to know if a field is editable or not, so I need to get the actives properties, even if this has been set by the IDE.  Do you konw how can I get this ? Hi all. I have the following ODBC driver installed : And I'm receiving the following message from OpenDB "[Rocket Software][ODBC D3 Driver]Logon failed. Check D3 connection parameters and available licenses. {28000}" Any Ideas on how to resolve this? (assuming that there are available licenses) - What is "required" for the D3 connection parameters?
