Hi, We have followed below link for doing debugging on Enterprise Server using cassi but after executing cassi -a -rESDEMO command we are getting error as “console deamon not active RC = 4605”.   Debugging Services and Applications on Enterprise Server Using the cassi Command (microfocus.com)   Can anyone help us to solve RC=4605

Hi, our company delivers the dll and exe files to our customers, which were generated with VisualCobol. Now we would like to use newer language features like functions. Unfortunately we only get executable programs if the rdf files are also delivered. Probably it is a directive, but no suitable one was found. Hello, My organization is in the process of upgrading from Visual COBOL 4 to Visual COBOL 7. I've been setting up formatting in the Visual Studio settings for it and I notice a difference in behavior. In VC4, if I selected a section that looked something like this: if value-item > 5    move value-item to other-value-itemend-if and used the Format Selection function, I'd had it configured where it would result in this: If value-item > 5    Move value-item To other-value-itemEnd-if Basically, it would do proper capitalization of keywords. I've tried everything I can find in the settings to replicate this behavior in VC7, but it never touched capitalization, leaving everything as it was and applying all other formatting settings. Is there something I'm potentially missing, or was this changed from 4 to 7?#VisualCOBOL#VisualStudio

I am working on a mainframe migration project to AWS using Micro focus. Our mainframe inventory is using AMATERSE as a service aid program that operates in problem state. You can use AMATERSE to pack a data set before transmitting a copy to another site, typically employing FTP as the transmission mechanism.  I searched microfocus documentation but seems AMATERSE is not supported directly in micro focus. Can anyone suggest me how do we achieve this functionality in micro focus?

Beginning in Visual COBOL V7.0 support for dynamic length data-items has been added to the COBOL language. You can specify a data item as follows where the limit phrase is optional and defines the maximum size of the data-item. 01 my-field pic x dynamic length limit is 15. The length of this field will change dynamically depending on it's current contents. Hello guys. I again. I'm trying to install MicroFocus Cobol Personal Edition for Visual Studio 2019 on my notebook with Win 10 64 bits but I'm having the following problem: The installer just opens and closes without doing anything. the interesting thing is that I created a virtual machine also with Win 10 64 bits and in this case it installs. I've looked for any and all references that exist about MicroFocus Cobol in my notebook to try to locate the problem, but nothing. I don't know what else to do to install. Any suggestion? Just don't tell me to reinstall Windows because I won't. Thanks in Advanced.

When using AcuXDBC and accessing the data through a DSN in Excel, it returns the error: DLLLOAD: xvision, the specified procedure could not be found PATH and GENESIS_HOME are set correctly and using odbcsql.bat directly on the command line works correctly. When running a newer version of AcuConnect on the server, the automatic update is triggered and installed on the client machine as expected. After this, when the .atc file is launched, the previous version of AcuThin is still used instead of the new installed version. This means that the automatic update is triggered again. When a shared or mapped drive is set in the Working Directory in the Alias then there will be an error 267 in the AcuConnect logs, and the program will not run. Within CA (Cobol Analyzer) Web it is possible to see the source code that has been loaded into a workspace. Is it possible restrict access to CA Web so that a user needs to be authenticated before using CA Web? It is possible to do this by enabling security with TomCat Web server and it will authenticate the user before allowing the user access to CA Web. But what is [static-link] ? and how can I find out whether [stacic-link] used in the current MF COBOL? Is where any keyword for using [static-link] ?

Hello,  Microssoft has released VS 2022 and we are looking to move to it from VS 2019.  I can not find any information on the Micro Focus pages about support for VS2022.  Does any one know when they plan to support it?   We are using Visual Cobol 6 currently. thanks
