Hi,I'm trying for the first time setting the configuration variable TV_EDITLABELS to 1 to allow the users to edit labels on tree views.In my program, when I click on a tree view label, I get the expected MSG_TV_BEGINEDITLABEL message, but after I edit the contents of the label and hit Enter, I don't get the expected MSG_TV_ENDEDITLABEL message, but the program crashes with a "Memory access violation" system error message instead.Any ideas of how could I fix this?Thanks.#treeview

One week after Installation and tests with programs in reference, i am not able to load the Project, the license is not valid.is the Trial only valid for 1 week or 1 year?What can i do? Reinstalling every week on a new virtual machine to make tests?

HiI'm currently using  MicroFocus VEC 5.0 in Windows 10. I've developed quite a large suite of native COBOL programs using OpenESQL to update a local installation of MS SQL server.My question has 2 parts:1) To switch to MySQL will I only need to change my connection string to access a 32 bit ODBC driver for MySQL instead of SQL server? I believe the SQL syntax is pretty standard so I hope my Insert, Delete and Update logic will not be affected.1)What strategy and technology would be required to either directly update a Web based MySQL database or if that's not possible what would be another approach to upload the MySQL data in real time.I'd like to develop a small web based application to expose this MySQL data and I don't want to use Java or COBOL.ThanksElliot

i had on 2 Dialog System generated cpy-files with flag "Data block ANSI constants" set, and i don't find the reason of this. There are more than 100 Errors.i have remove this flag and the Errors are solved!I want only to share my experience by testing my big Project with over 500 cbl and 170 gs, 580 copy files.

Hi,We are currently investigating the performance differences between Vision files and a SQL database.  We wrote a small program to do writes, key reads, read next and re-writes.   Testing with 40000 records, the vision file system gets all this done in 4.5 seconds.  The same test on a SQL database takes 4 minutes and 44 seconds.  This is a major drop in performance.   I am attaching the program we used to see if anyone can help us solve the issue with performance.  We a not a database shop, so our knowledge of the database setup is not great.   Any help we can get would be appreciated.  We have to have to make a decision on adding a SQL solution to our product line by the end of the year.Thanks.

I have a program that copies a file from HP UX server to local Windows PC using C$COPY.This works in thin client GUI, but how do I copy a file from the server in DOS mode (see picture)?C$COPY does not work, so I tried calling a batch script with cmd.exe using C$SYSTEM with and without @[DISPLAY] but nothing is working. The compiler could not even find cmd.exe. 

Found this strange outcome in the following scenario. After many years of program exporting the "30000" result (many different version of the runtime) , suddenly at one site, it started exporting the correct "3000" result. I need to display 3 controls on the same line, without any gaps between them:   label with proportional font   push-button   label with proportional fontI want to do 3 consecutive displays and not have to use WIN$TEXTSIZE to compute control sizes.  (That's too slow over the internet, when you are doing this multiple times)The text interface has the cursor concept and back-to-back strings display right after each other.  Even in thin client.  But display a label and the cursor does not update.   I have a sample program I put into labelposn.zip and attached (source and object - version 10.2.1) which illustrates cursor positioning and display of controls.  Basically, it does not work.

Hi,Has anyone else experienced a performance issue when using MSSQL?   We are evaluating the Acu4GL product for MSSQL and we wrote a simple program that will write and read records using either Vision files or a MSSQL database.  When doing a 40,000 record test, where the records are written to the filesystem, then read and then re-written; the total time to do these operations using the Vision file system is 4.41 seconds, doing the same operations to the MSQL database took 4 minutes and 44.35 seconds.   I have tried using a few of the optimization suggestions in other posts, but the improvement is minimal.  I have attached a copy of the source we used for the test Any help would be appreciated.

The company I'm working at wants to apply multitasking for 3 programs.i.e.1. menu calls program A,2. minimize program A, go back to menu and call program B3. minimize program B, go back to menu and call program C4. switch to any 3 opened programs at willI found out from the guides that multithreading is the best solution for this. So, I tried this in the main menu, so that every called program has its own thread: CALL THREAD PROG-WPATH HANDLE THREAD-1 USING PROG-ID, PROG-PARAMETER EXCEPTION STOP THREAD THREAD-1  And in the called program, I tried this: DISPLAY INDEPENDENT WINDOW LINES 21 SIZE 112 CELL SIZE = ENTRY-FIELD FONT SEPARATE TITLE-BAR MODELESS NO SCROLL NO WRAP AUTO-MINIMIZE, TITLE S-WINDOW-TITLE BIND TO THREAD, HANDLE S-WINDOW. Hi I'd like to use JSON PARSE instead of UNSTRING to parse the JSON structure shown below. My problem is that the  content and exact spelling  of  the  middle lines starting with "161 Waist" and "162 Seat" are not known at compile time, only at run time. I have a COBOL program that calls a VB6 program, which reads data from a weight scale using COM port.The data is saved into a TXT file, then the COBOL program opens the TXT and reads the data.Everything works fine so far, but is it possible to pass and receive data between the programs directly without creating any file?

Hi, most of my codes are still in NetExpress V3.1 and recently I bought a Core I5 Windows 10 (in SSD) laptop and I wanted to install my NetExpress V3.1 copy.Steps that I "usually" take on my old Core I3 HDD laptop;1.)  Edit the WRAPPER.INI and remove the "CheckIE5OrAbove=1" line and run SETUP.EXE2.)  I usually install the Class Library and choose at least 2 ODBC drivers and it will be installed correctly with a 30-days evaluation copyHowever, using my new Core I5 (with SSD).... it won't install anymore. Is there any additional configuration that I could do to install my NetExpress V3.1?? Anyone?@netexpress 

I have tried to install on a second machine, result is the same. Error is shown in a separate window shortly after strta of installation. TEMP variable is correct. Installation is run under "ADMIN"
