Example: BIND40N /CY /U DUMMY /L DB2LOC /EXPLAIN ALL /BUTTON BIND /ACTION REPLACE /GRANTEXECUTE NONE /REPLACEAUTH RETAIN /ISOLATIONLEVEL CS /EXISTANCECHECKING REQUIRED /CHANGECONTROL NOERR /DEFAULTQUALIFIER %QUALIFIER% /PACKAGEOWNER %OWNER% /COLLECTION %COLLECTION_ID% /D "D:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Micro Focus\\mfuser\\config\\RM%.DBR"   Solution: "/U UserID" in the XDB BIND command is used to specify the UserID for the DB2 Location on the Mainframe. If DUMMY is specified as UserID, this means that the user set in the SQL for DB2 Client Options will be used as a login ID to the DB2 on the Mainframe. Here is some information: ************************************************** The XDBLOGM executable will log the user into the XDB Server and save the user ID and password.  This executable is executed by the IDE when using the menu entry "Tools -> SQL for DB2 -> Log On". Hi, We have a JAVA application for which the programs are triggered through job scripts. Are these scripts compatible source to add in EA? If so, under what extension will these needs to be registered? Regards, Ek..#EnterpriseAnalyzer

We are using XA resource to access a SQLServer Database using ODBC (ESODBCXA) When a network failure occurs or something happens on the Database side that invalidate DB connection, that connection on MF side becomes invalid. Even though everything is back to normal (network and database) the SEP's XA ODBC connection (on the MF side) is still corrupt and when we try to access the application from TN3270 we get a "CASSP0010S Syncpoint failure - resource state unpredictable".When in that situation we need to go in ESMAC, first disable then re enable the XA Adapter and everything is back to normal. I would like to know if there is a way to make the XA Adapter try to reset itself when such a situation occurs. I tried to resolve the issue with the following settings but was unsuccessful: ES_XA_RECONNECT ES_XA_????_NB_RETRIES=nnnn (where ???? defines the XA ID) How can I automate a connection test to prevent such an issue from happening? In many JDBC connection pools there is a con

When opening very large catalog files from ESMAC the whole web application hangs until the file is processed server side.Using the following parameter restricts the output: ES_ESMAC_DISP_MAX_OVERRIDE=1000 However, server side the file still has to be opened and processed to be able to output the requested content (number of lines) to the user's screen and as stated above this freezes ESMAC while doing so. Is there a way to either speed up the process or prevent ESMAC from opening such a file and display a message to the user that the file is too big to be viewed withing ESMAC?#EnterpriseServer

Problem How can an Assembler Macro be mapped to a call statement in Enterprise Analyzer using Architecture Modeller? Resolution Architect Modeller (AM) is the utility that has been provided with Enterprise Analyzer (EA) to allow users to extend the source statements that are phrased by EA. On the support line website, in the Examples and Utilities page is an option entitled ‘Enterprise Analyzer Guides’. This is a link to four short videos that are a very good introduction to AM. Before a user tries to create an AM plug-in they must have reviewed the videos as they provide all of the information required to understand how to use AM. The attached document is a detailed guide to using AM to write a plug-in for EA that will map a macro to a call statement. This document shows how much extra work is required beyond using the legacy.xml to do the mapping. It should be noted that in this example, the macro to be mapped is called mupro. Sample code use when creating the AM plug-in: Demo_Code.z

Problem: Within the documentation for Enterprise Analyzer it defines the process for adding clipper queries to the Potential Code Anomalies section of the Executive Reports. Unfortunately the documentation is wrong in that it does not give all the parameters that are required to get the clipper query to run correctly.   What is the correct process for defining Potential Code Anomalies? Resolution: The way to setup the clipper query in the CodeDefects.xml is as follows:   <DEFECT Id="name" Internal="True|False" Enabled="True|False" Caption="display name" ListName="list name" Criterion="path of criterion" Model="Model Type"/>   Model Type is defined as:   The Interactive Analysis model for the source files to be searched, eg, "COBOL".   List of Commonly used Model Types   COBOL - Cobol source files JAVAFILE - Java source files JCL - JCL source files NATURAL - NATURAL source files PLI - PL/I source files RPG - RPG AST Hypercode Model source files VBP -

Problem The Change Traffic Control script supplied with Enterprise Analyzer (EA) requires an executable that cannot be shipped with EA to run. Where can this module be downloaded from? Resolution The module in question is called diff and this is a source comparison tool that has been developed as an open source module using GnuWin. As such, it is free to download, but is not something that Micro Focus can distribute. Diff can create metrics to show differences between two source modules. These metrics are then gathered by the change traffic control script (ChangeTraffic.bj) and loaded into EA via the Enterprise View (EV) core module apm-core.jar. Here are the steps necessary to download and install diff.exe: Go to the following web address - http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/files/diffutils The latest version of diff is currently 2.8.7.1. Go into latest folder and select the exe to download, typically diffutils-2.8.7-1.exe. Run the exe, this will install diff onto the PC. The

New *.BMSX file Beginning in Enterprise Developer 2.2 Update 1, a new file is created when you generate a BMS map. The files *.BMSX. The file contains a list of all the files produced during the compile. It is only used by the build process. There are no switches to disable the creation of this file. This will be added to the documentation in a future release.#MFDS#CICSBMSBMSX#EnterpriseDeveloper

Hi, While trying to register a JAVA source file, it is getting failed throwing below error Critical 800 - Parser Error: Xmls not found at Extracts folder. Can anyone help on above. Regards, Ek..  #EnterpriseAnalyzer

There are several ways to submit JCL to the Internal Reader. One can use a submission from CICS or from a batch job using a JCL file. If one has many different JCL jobs stored in different datasets, it can be a lot of work to merge them into a single JCL stream. Is there another way to do this to avoid the manual work of merging JCL files?   The following sample describes submission of multiple batch jobs using JCL from different datasets. The sample uses a QSAM dataset and two PDS's. Each JCL is submitted from an IEBGENER step in the 'main' JCL.   The sample was built using Enterprise Developer v2.2. The datasets containing the JCL to be executed were added to the Catalog with these DCB attributes:     Sequential dataset: DCB=DSORG=PS,RECFM=LSEQ,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=0    PDS one: DCB=DSORG=PO,RECFM=LSEQ,LRECL=80.BLKSIZE=0    PDS two: DCB=DSORG=PO,RECFM=LSEQ,LRECL=80.BLKSIZE=0  The PDS's were marked as Dynamic

Hi, I wanted to verify and analyze application running in distributed network.  For this when i tried to add *.JAVA files to the new project created it is not getting registered as the extension is UNKNOWN. Also, i am not able to see JAVA as SOURCE TYPE under REGISTRATION -> EXTENSION. Hi, Some of the control cards that are used in the JCL are not identified as relationship with the job. Eg: Job TEST is using 2 control cards CNT11 is used in system program COMPAREX, CNT22 is used in SORT. The job is able to identify only the control card CNT22 as relation. The CNT11 is not being identified. I have checked with LEGACY.XML for the below entry and it is present.     <!-- to generate relationship Program Uses ControlCard -->    <ProgUsesCard>      <item> IDCAMS,SYSIN,.* </item>    </ProgUsesCard> Please let us know your comments/suggestions. I am in the process of migrating from MFEE to Enterprise Developer. One of my programs calls another program. I get this error: 173 Called program not found in drive/directory. Is this the same error as described for NET SERVER and the other product? Any thoughts.#EnterpriseDeveloper

Hello, we use MFED for Eclipse remote COBOL projects. As is suggested by the eclipse community as a good practice, we wish to share the full MFED Eclipse project between developers. This means, files like .project and .cobolProj should be shared as well. In addition, we wish to be able to use "Remote Linked Folders". For example, the build output should go into a project folder which is linked to a remote folder that is referenced by the MFES region. Each developer has her own MFES region that is configured to look for deployed programs ("JES program path") under a folder "/users/<myuserid>/mfes/loadlib". This way, after a build no (re-)deployment into the MFES is necessary to run tests. The parent folder "/users/<myuserid>" folder is mapped by Samba onto a drive D: on the Windows box that runs the MFED. However, adding remote linked folders to a project results in a .project file that contains the username. For exampe (irrelevant details snipped): <projectDescription&gt

Problem: When a query containing variables is executed in SQL Wizard, the first time the query is run, SQL Wizard prompts for a value to be entered. Then this value is kept in the memory and if you want to enter a new one, you need to restart the SQL window for queries. For example: Try running something similar to the following in SQL Wizard update tbl11aa  set program_styr_data = 'USER=****,DATABAS=:databas'  where program_ver = '000PS'  ; When the query is executed for the first time, SQL Wizard prompts for a value in DATABAS as expected.  If the query is executed for a second time, then SQL Wizard doesn't prompt for a new value. If a  new value has to be specified, SQL Wizard has to be closed and reopened and then the promp will appear again. Solution: In the SQLWizard menu the “:variables” are known in SQLWizard as “Query Parameters”.  Query parameters are associated with the SQL Window in SQLWizard.  There is one set of param

Problem: A TN3270 listener is configured for a region, and the listener is protected through SSL with a certificate and private key. The trouble is that the system administrator is prompted for, and must enter, the pass phrase for the private key manually every time the region is started. The system administrator noticed that the documentation, in the following section: Deployment > Secure Communications (SSL) > Tutorial: Configuring SSL Security in the Server Says to add the following lines to the "mf-server.dat" file: [HTTPS Echo/SSL/passphrases]certificate=keyfile=open sesame Though he tried this, he still must enter the pass phrase each time the region is started. What are the correct entries in the "mf-server.dat" file for TN3270 listeners? Resolution: The tag in square brackets in mf-server.dat should specify the name of the listener. For example if the listener is named TN3270, the tag in mf-server.dat should be: [TN3270/SSL/passphrases] As another example, if the listener
