There is a new file called uoj.properties that controls logging and such for UOJ 5.4.3. I read the documentation and found this new required feature. However, the UOJ code does not read the file when deployed on Apache Tomcat. Rocket Software is working on a hotfix.The problem is that the logDebugLevel is set to INFO no matter what you set the file for. Because I have background process running like batch jobs, clean up temporary files in Universe, and running BIRT print jobs in UniBasic code. Each of those processes creates a log entry meaning I create about 43,250 minimum per day in the Apache Tomcat log files. Due to some security issues, the D3 installers' ability to automatically download dependency packages is no longer available. This makes it necessary to load dependencies manually before running D3_setup. The proper way to start D3 Linux 10.4 is: systemctl start d3svc We have run into instances where someone is starting is using D3_setup start, which starts it in foreground, not as a service. OK for debugging, but the problem is that if that thread disconnects or is killed, the entire VME crashes. This is much like starting D3 Windows from a command prompt using d3vme /debug, then closing the command prompt.  So please use systemctl instead of other methods.

Please be aware the Rocket MV BASIC extension for VS Code (MVVS) release v2.9.0 has a minimum requirement of JDK v17 and not v11 as suggested in the documentation. If the MVVS v2.9.0 environment has a pre-17 JDK, the extension will fail to start with pop up message:"The Rocket MV BASIC Language Server server crashed 5 times in the last 3 minutes. The server will not be restarted. See the output for more information."and"Server initialization failed". We will be releasing an update to documentation and product error handling as soon as possible. 

There is a bug in the MVS Toolkit (or at least we believe it's the Toolkit) where if you use an OpenSSL version higher than 1.1 to generate a .PKCS12 document, it appears to create just fine, but when you install that in the Toolkit, HTTPS does not work. Rocket is working on this problem, but so far we have not been able to identify what or where the problem is. Meanwhile, I suggest that you use OpenSSL v1.1 or lower to generate your keys, certificate requests and certificates. While we're on the subject, I've worked some cases recently where people generated a private key that was not an RSA private key. It needs to be an RSA private key or the world won't like it. If you have any questions about any of this, or if you want some help with certificate generation (or anything else with the Toolkit for that matter), please open a support ticket and I'll jump on it right away and give you a hand.

Hello,I would like to report an issue that we have seen with this recent update to 2.8.0 version. We use Online editing mode provided by Rocket MV Basic Extension to connect to our development server and make coding changes. After the update, it seems like the existing online editing mode connection is NOT working and is NOT able to detect .rmvonline folder of existing setup.I have to reset my online editing workspace and make a fresh configuration file (servers.mvbasic.json). After this it is able to connect and work properly. Could you please confirm if this is an expected behavior for people working in Online Editing mode to work as mentioned or if this is a known issue in version 2.8.0? If this is an issue, is there any other recommend workaround or possible fix anticipated?Thanks,Sunny Garg

As I sit here waiting for another Windows update for our MVS Toolkit, I wonder again, and I do mean again, why there is no Linux version for this part of the tool. We stopped using MS Windows over 20 years ago, but had to go and get  a licence and set up vm server to run Windows so that we could interface with the web. Where have all our problems been? On the Windows server. Now if there was a Linux version available, we may have had to set up a vm anyway, but it would have worked a lot better and saved a lot of technician time.

Hello, it is me again fighting UOPY.  I need to push a big file, and after multiple testing, I found that I could not push a file bigger than 128K. The process hangs there forever. Is this a Unidata limitation or a UOPY limitation? Is there a way to change this limit? Just putting this out there. I’ve had a couple of cases where people upgraded D3 to 10.3.3 or 10.3.4 and started having weird problems with MVSP. In both cases, we upgraded MVSP to 1.8.21 and it solved the issue. When upgrading D3, it’s not good to simply restore your existing MVSP account, especially if you’re going to 10.4. Anybody out there ready to upgrade, please contact me so I can get you the MVSP 1.8.21 version and help you install it. The reason it’s not posted in the RCP Downloads is because the pseudo tape is NOT a patch but rather an account-save, and the steps are different. The Recoverable File System (UVRFS) re-introduced in UniVerse 14.2.1 is an optional add-on feature that can be purchased through RBC for Server and Enterprise Editions of UniVerse. How to Order UVRFS via RBC:UVRFS will automatically appear in the list of add-ons in Rocket Business Connect (RBC). The user count for UVRFS will match your UniVerse license user count. Simply check the box to add UVRFS to your license. We are looking at trying to enhance some of our VUE apps to be more reactive with the DB.  I was wondering if MVIS supported any webhooks for VUE applications.   We have build a nodejs server that will communicate with our D3 server and watch for changes and then our VUE app will await the webhook and update the application with the changes.  The proof of concept works but I really hate adding one more server, nodejs in the mix of things that could go wrong.   We are still using the Zumasys MultiValue Dashboard interface for all our web to D3 services.
