Uniface®

I am trying to follow the training from learn.rocketsoftware.com about ux widgets.  When I try to tun the example dsp UX-1 I get a Uniface RIA Exception "No widget found for files PERSONID.WIDGETS.UX". I have copied the uniface\\common folder from the installed uniface to the runtime webapps\\uniface folder. What file(s) am I missing? Hi Unifacers, large text fields are becoming more and more common in all applications.It would be nice to be able to recognize where endUser is positioned in a large text field as well as to position him/her in a specific point of the text field. Need is to have a new function $curPos() which can be used to get or to set cursor position in a specific field.Syntax could be:vPos = $curPos(FIELDNAME) ; to get current position$curPos(FIELDNAME) = vPos ; to set current position When setting a new position automatic scrolling should be taken in consideration to show the portion of text where the cursor is newly positioned. Hello everyone, In a DSP (10.4.02 version), we were able to use voice dictation through the "SpeechRecognition" interface, which is functional on Google Chrome.  We would like to use this same voice dictation in a form. Despite the Uniface HTML widget using Chorium, this interface does not work. Have you ever had a need for dictation in a form, and do you have a solution? I am wanting to update the positions of fields on a form multiple times a second as if they are being animated. I'm struggling to find a way to do this. I tried using sleep in a while loop but it causes the UI to hang.Looking around, the UTimer or some kind of periodic messaging to run triggers may work, but I don't know how to use those things.  Any thoughts? ------------------------------R TEmporerRocket Software Forum Member------------------------------

Hi Team, We recently migrated from Uniface v10.3 to v10.4, and after completing the migration and configuration setup, we've encountered an issue. The problem arises specifically when the application is accessed from outside the server (where the application is deployed). When executing the xmlload statement, the application crashes, and no logs are generated beyond that point. We have attached the relevant logs for reference. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or can provide insights into resolving this? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! After upgrading from windows 12 to windows 19 there is a 50% degradation in performance. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a performance gain displaying lots of fields on a component. I have a tab form. If the user makes a change to one of the fields and TABS ... then leaves the tab form - life is great. But, if they do not TAB, I need to force the validate trigger to fire.  So, I put a validateocc(entity) in the LoseFocus trigger of the tab form. It fires, does its calculations, but then I can never get out of the field that is being modified. I'm at a loss on what to try next. Hi,We're seeing long compile times in our Uniface 10.4 development environment, with more complex components taking upwards of 90 to 120 seconds to compile each time. Though we've never had super quick compilation under Uniface 10, in particular, this does seem to have got worse, though I'm not really sure what would be considered a "normal" compile time.Has anyone else seen something similar, or have any ideas what might be contributing (or what to look in to)? The statement filebox allows user in the MS file selection form to choose the option "all files" and select an arbitrary file, although the filebox option for file types is restricted only to certain file types. The request to Uniface development is that after file selection Uniface itself checks the selected file: Is the file type correct? If not then $status is not 0 but e.g. 1 telling that file type is incorrect. Is the file path correct? If not then $status is not 0 but e.g. 2 telling that file path does not correspond to given entry path. Another possibility would be a new option /secure with the consequence that $status would be negative and $result is empty, if one of the mentioned checks above fails.  ------------------------------Ewald WichmannAkdb------------------------------

We use the $timeout setting in the ASN file of our application, but this does not have an impact if a user leaves an askmess/filebox/… statement unanswered. This can lead to long lasting 'open transactions' on the database, which in his turn does not help the overall performance. We investigated the possibility of the UTIMER function, but since this does not capture 'inactivity', this is not an option: we do have large processes which needs time. And it seems that this UTIMER is even 'disabled' when an AskMess is used. Regarding the open transactions, we tried to avoid these using commits/rollbacks (after retrieve instructions) but this doesn't really closes the transaction because Uniface needs to complete its hitlist. We can achieve this by performing a setocc -1 ; but that is (seeing the large amount of data) not an option either. Anyone any idea/suggestion? P.S.: we are running Uniface 10.4.2.043 with Ms Sql server as database (ODBC Driver 17) Microsoft SQL Server 2014 - 12.0.2

Hi all,  We are having a problem with our Crystal reports 9.2 after upgrading/imported our system from Uniface 9.7 to 10.3. We can not even open a form with an ocx widget connecte to the CRViewer9.CRViewer ocx.
