Hi,I have migrated Uniface from 9.7 to 10.4 and I'm using a new linux server for Uniface 10.4Regarding our web application, when I access the URL, the web server requests the new linux server and trying to access the usp. But throwing an error in the webpage : "Security Error" - uspname.operationname cannot be executed from the browser. The urouter is running fine and the web asv log file (I don't see any error) is also created. Please note : This is an existing application and it works fine with Uniface 9.7. The same webserver was requesting the old linux server and the response looks fine in the web page. I changed the web.xml with new linux server and port.Am I missing something with Uniface 10.4 in the new linux server ?------------------------------Thanks,Satheesh MuthuGopal------------------------------

I don't understand how MVIS pooled license work. Can I assume that a single pool license can hold a certain number of user licenses for use with MVIS out of all of the user licenses on the system? If I have a single application on my server does it only require a single pooled license? What if for some reason my API call takes longer than expected, does that prevent other users from connecting to MVIS site?How can I calculate the optimum number of pooled licenses I need to effectively run my new MVIS system?Jon

Rocket Uniface upgrades secure TLS connections to a minimum of TLS v1.2 Rocket Uniface has made the conscious decision of upgrading the internal network security, all TLS connections between server and client are upgraded to use TLS v1.2 only. This is considered the industry standard. Uniface always attempted to use TLS v1.2 and, if unavailable, fall back to older versions. Older versions of TLS, v1.0 and v1.1, are now considered unsafe, and are being gradually deprecated and removed from commercial software. We have chosen to deprecate this functionality in Uniface, starting from 10.4.02.012. If necessary you can still utilize these old protocols. We are currently running UniData 8.2 on AIX 7.1 on soon to be Power10 IBM servers. We have roughly 2000 connections across "4" UniData instances linked by NFS and NFA data pointers sharing a pool of 22 Power server cpu running at smt8.Our management wants to look into moving to a cheaper Linux environment and I am trying to gauge how good or bad of an idea that is and what that would look like vs our AIX setup we have been running for 25+ years.We also have over 2000 AIX user accounts on each system, several hundred AIX printer queues, thousands of programming calls using and parsing output from various AIX commands. If we drop this on Linux, what programming changes would need done to make the code run, outside of all the AIX vs Linux OS command vetting?If you have a large UniData environment, I'd love to get on the phone and chat if anyone is up to it? We were getting 153 ("Subscript out of range") error during runtime with Cobol 6.0.5 we used the below compilation options. -C SSRange=2-C NoCheck-C Bound With Cobol migration to 7.0.6 we with the same set of compilation options we are not getting the 153 ("Subscript out of range") error. But when I remove the -C NoCheck I am getting the error. Hi Version 10.4.02.005 working in client.We don't think this is possible but I am asking here in the hope that someone can point out the obvious thing we have missed. The scenario is a multi-occurrence entity painted on the form with lots of records retrieved.  We would like to know which of the painted occurrences the current occurrence is being displayed within. Early versions of the ZMF REST API documentation, and a number of the videos generated at the same time, refer to two separate applications, zmfrest and zmfevent, distributed in war files of the same names. In ZMF 8.2 Patch 4 and later, however, only the zmfrest application is provided. Why is this? The very simple answer is that, as mentioned in the ZMF 8.2 Patch 4 Readme file, the zmfevent application was merged into the zmfrest application in that release. I would like to be able to set up a 'default state'  for my IDE, so that when I have finished a task I can reset the open tabs to a base state and therefore 'close' all the objects I have been working on for that task. I could copy in and out the state zip file, but that would also reset the stored position in all the components, so if I re-open a recent one, it will not be focused on the latest changes. I have peered into the zip file, and I think that 'all' I need to do is build something that copies the MAIN file in (from one previously copied out), but I don't want to play too hard for fear of messing up my IDE. Is there such a function (reset the tabs to the specified list), and/or a breakdown of the files in the zip folder so I know if there are others I should be backing up for consistency? Regards, Iain------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------
