I know this is not exactly a cobol problem but I would be interested in a case where somebody has provided a webservice using a cobol applications because I'm not sure about the general procedure. We are in the middle of a project to convert our old RedBack Objects over to SOAP Web Services.  I was hoping someone might be able to provide some suggestions to get around some really user-unfriendly aspects of the tool. When launching the Explorer, is there any way to have it default the Navigator to the WSDL?  That is the only thing we use, but it defaults to the UDDI.  Once we switch to the WSDL, it requires it to be selected twice to get the WSDL URL prompt. Once you get to the WSDL URL prompt, is there anyway to get it to default to the End Point?  Every time, we have to copy/paste it from the properties tab.  Since the tool knows what it is, one would think this would have been a no-brainer default. Once an Operation has been chosen to test, we have not found a way to easily switch to another operation (maybe missing something).  The only way we have done it is to close the Explorer and endure #1 and #2 above all over again. We are in no position to switch to any newer "tool"

We want to use TLS v1.2 for our EXTRA! X-treme 9,6.  When we try to connect with the Security Type set to TLS v1.2, we only get the lightning 501 message at the bottom of the screen.  Here is how we set up the Configure Connection screen: Our network guys ran a trace and found the following communication between the client and server:   They said that EXTRA! was not sending a "Client Hello" message to the host based on the trace above. I don't know how to do this. This is not a COMP-3 field. I'm needing to match the file layout the government gave me. All of their amount fields are defined this way. The internet says I need to use USAGE IS DISPLAY. When I look at the field afterwards it is still 12 characters including a sign. Is there something I need to install? Or, a switch I need to set?

I am using ESFADMIN command to setup the security with LDAP. Initially ES has no any login. When I following the esfadmin command, and add the coresponding parameters there, it failed due to ESF signon error. I tried the default SYSAD as -u and -p. I used LDAP user for them, but still signon error.  Could you pease help me on this command to get success?
