Hi Guys, According to the manual the D3 -d command  -d data.arg Stacks data for the process once it is activated. The data argument specified is any string that contains displayable characters and commands prefixed by a backslash. Hello, I want to use ODBC connection to postgres database  with a cobol SQL program (Visual Cobol + oesql). I've got this error : SQL CODE : 000019520-ORDER : OPEN CURPARMODMESSAGE SQL : Connection does not support HOLD cursors How can i configure my ODBC.ini to work correctly with HOLD cursor Or is there a postgres ODBC driver on Linux with HOLD cursor capability ? hello, So, Universe >= r12 use the same lock system like Udt, I'm looking to deeply understand/tune it. For admin & troubleshooting, there is a tool uvglm_tool / glm_tool  and uvulc_tool / ulc_tool, but they are not documented or I do not found any docs about it nor in Unidata docs.    Is there anyone who have details about it ? How to read the info, use it ? when i convert a .h file with h2cpy.exe the names are cut on 30 characters. Is there a option to keep the long names from the h file? in Visual Cobol 9.x h2cpy.exe is not here i missed so many thinks in VC as Type Library, h2cpy, out directory, etc Thanks for help cg

Hello, We sometimes have problem with mouse pointer in Uniface application : the pointer is visible ouside the Uniface application but as soon as we move above the most externe component called by start-up-shell, it disappears. The only way to see it again is to close the runtime and re-open it. Have you ever seen that ? We have this problem in 9.6 and 10.4 on several windows platform. Hello, I have a problem with a small application that I have that reads the citizen card using the chip. The card is read, the data is imported, but when the photo image is written it gives an error: "Generic error in GDI+" (I send the error as an attachment). I have two computers where one of them records the photo without any problem and the other gives this error. The instruction that gives the error is as follows: invoke bitmapx::Save(ccPictureFilePath, type ImageFormat::Jpeg)where bitmapx using class System.Drawing.Bitmap.I'm waiting for your notices.Best regardsAlberto Ferraz

Hi, can someone help me?   I have 2 D3 windows servers with the same version.  I used to have a super q-pointer on the second server pointing to an account on the first server.  The q-pointer was deleted when i freed up vme space.  I can't remember the format needed for the super q-pointer.  I also can't find the document that i previously read to setup this.   Thanks!

Hi FreaksI have just managed to integrate my "prettifier" into U10 :-)At the end, <refresh> is also called (or better set to True) so that the result can be accessed immediately.The only problem is that the refresh sets the position in the script back to (1,1). Every time my [Windows 11 pro] PC is rebooted the "Unidata Database Service 8.2" and the "Unidata Telnet Service 8.2" are both Disabled and have to be re-enabled and then re-started via the Services window. It's funny but the "Uni RPC Service" is not affected. We have a file that is used to find customers via a name & address formatted "matchcode".  This matchcode file has an index for customer number, as it has 38M entries.  For example: MATCHCODE:     4537100110WSTLM00000BSHT0001 599386130002 58926904 Often, there are more than one customer number (attributed) associated with a matchcode as shown in this example.  It seems that only <1> is indexed and not the others (.  Is this a function of how UniVerse indexes, or the dictionary value used or is it a function of how the index was created? >LIST-INDEX MATCHCODE ALL Alternate Key Index Summary for file MATCHCODE File........... Hello, I am trying to integrate a webhook from a third party company in Universe 11.3 on IBM AIX.  The third party company asked for a URL to send their messages and I thought I would be able to build this through RESTful Web Services developer and a Unibasic subroutine.  I  setup an input parameter and hoped it would contain the return data, but that did not work and the parameter was not being populated. Is the RESTful Web Services the best tool for this?  If so, how can I parse the return message (below) in my Unibasic subroutine, so I can update my database?  If not, any tools/ideas you can recommend? We are upgrading from RHEL 7 to 8 to 9.  Then, we will need to upgrade UV 11.3.1 to 11.4.1. We are considering only going to RHEL 8, but UV 11.4.1 is certified for RHEL 9. Is anyone running UV 11.x on RHEL 9?  Any issues with it? 

Hello, I am hoping someone has some insight into an issue we are having with a few of our clients on Windows  Server 2022.  If we connect to their system via telnet with wIntegrate or other telnet emulator, if we are inactive for more than a few seconds, we get disconnected.  After reconnecting, a license is hung because Universe still sees that connection as active.  We do not believe that the connection timed out and we have even set Universe so there is no timeout, as well as set the keepalive settings.  We believe the issue is related to Windows Server 2022 or a firewall setting, not sure which.  Since we are not the client's IT staff, we do not always have access to investigate, so we need suggestions on what to check.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  We do not recall having this issue on older versions of Windows Server prior to 2022.------------------------------Joseph von ArxSoftware DeveloperData Management Associates Inc DMACincinnati OH US---------------------------

We have plently of entities that are using the field OF (it means Prodcut Order in french = Order de Fabrication). With version 5.6 and 5.7 of MySQL, this word was not reserved but in 8, it is. So when we Clear/Retrieve en entity with fielf OF, we get an error message :  You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'OF from V_FABRICATION  where 1=0' at line 1 We thought that Uniface transactions with MySQL "protected" the name of fields and entities by sending : SELECT `OF`.`V_FABRICATION` from `V_FABRICATION`;  instead of SELECT OF.V_FABRICATION from V_FABRICATION;  Do you know if there is a way to set up Uniface so that all fields and entities to be border by ` (Alt+Gr+7) ? Using MX Web 10.4.3 we've run into an issue with being unable to limit the number of characters that users key into a Date Picker widget.  Here's the use case: Most date fields in our legacy application are 8 characters long (ie. MMDDYYYY) Some are only 6 characters long (ie. MMDDYY) If a user keys "07162024" into a short date field, the input to the host is actually "071620" (a difference of 4 years!) We can add a label to the screen advising users of the correct format, but we all know how good users are at reading and following instructions... Is there a way to limit the number of characters? I would assume so since there's an "Auto-tab" property? The format mask is correct but doesn't act as validation. I set the widget to disallow invalid dates, but the erroneous input above uses valid ones. I've also tried using the "maxlength" HTML attribute without success. Suggestions? EDIT - The QC team and I are getting different results, and I can't seem to duplicate the incorrect values

I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 by getting a whole new machine.  I downloaded Enterprise Developer 8.0 and Patch 18 on top of Visual Studio 2019 and tried to build a few programs.  The few I've tried all failed - most but not all of the copybooks can't be located.  What is happening here?  I've never had a problem with previous upgrades, with of Windows versions or more often Micro Focus.

Hi, I'm encountering an issue with a DLL built on the .NET Framework 4.7.2. I generated a .def file using axDefGen and included it in my AcuCobol program. Although the function I needed appeared in the .def file, I encountered a "System Exception, Member not found" error when running the AcuCobol program. I then tried using NetDefGen to generate the .def file, despite knowing it only supports .NET 1.1 and 2.0 versions. The .def file was generated with the required function, but during compilation, I faced numerous errors, causing the system to abort the process. Can anyone suggest a solution to these issues?
