We have recently upgraded to docker image of Visual Cobol DevHub 8.0 (Patch Update 9) from DevHub 7. and we are getting below error when while calling .int compiled module. execution error : file 'server/bin/module.int'error code: 40, pc=5F, call=1, seg=0 40 National Language Initialization not set up correctly I have verified that LANG is set as en_us which is available in /opt/microfocus/VisualCOBOL/LANG folder. I'm seeking a way to ascertain where jBASE is verifying login credentials via an AccuTerm script, or at least show a verbose log or trace of the connection attempt. An AccuTerm 7.3a user logs into their workstation using domain credentials. Those same credentials have been stored by AccuTerm in the workstation's user registry for use when connecting to the jBASE server. The jBASE login fails; jBASE then offers a different login scenario (possibly using local user credentials?), requiring manual entry of the credentials, which succeeds. These are the same credentials saved in the registry and Active Directory. AccuTerm 8.1. behaves similarly. This is jBASE 5.2.23 on Windows Server 2016... Any suggestions? Hi, We have installed DSFS.When I `cd` to a PDS and do a `sed -i ...`,sed wants to create a tmp file in current directory, however,this tmp file is not a valid member name. Hi there,I've been looking for a long time, how to execute the 'DOS' command in a trigger in Universe.I have seen in some forum, that they indicated to add an 'H' in attribute 4, in the VOC DOS of the UV account.I have tried this and it does not work, since when firing the trigger and executing the DOS command in the subroutine, I get this message: Program "ED": pc = 744C, Verb "DOS" illegal when a transaction is active.Program "ED": pc = 744C, Error performing trigger for "XXXXXXXX".Failed to file "20451390" in file "XXXXXXXX". When we log into our software - the program is giving us an 9D,18 error.  According to the documentation, that means that "An Error occurred when creating the primary key for a secondary table". But when I get this error - that is not what is going on in the software - we are just opening and reading files.  I also found that the 9D,18 error could mean that both types of SQL Authentication is being run in the ACUFH.TXT file.  That is not the case here either.   Can anyone help with this error? Our customer is dead in the water until we get this fixed.

Running Rel 10.2        Rocket DevOps core for IBM i I have a new table I am building that has a Foreign Key Constraint. I use CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE with an ALTER TABLE in the source file. I promoted the object to my QUA and tested it and realized I want to change the constraint, so I checked it out. made a field name change as well as change to the ALTER TABLE script to use the NEW Foreign Key...however when I promoted it it instead tried to apply the old constraint and did NOT apply the changes I made to the source. HI -  I have file that contains 1 record but the length of data can be from 2 chars to 700,000 chars.  I want to access such file in RM/COBOL program, ran via shell. Neither FD section approach nor sending via LINKAGE section is working. Using XML  IMPORT FUNCTION. Is there any other oway to pass the data. Something like reading file in shell, pass address of data to cobol program, and   Cobol access via address if possible. [Looking for utilityC CRG or DARG].   #linuxcobol#RM/COBOL

When attempting to install any of the Rocket MX engines on newer versions of RedHat Linux (8.9 & higher), you can, or will experience a permission denied error. The cause of this is RedHat and possibly other Linux variations have hardened their OS by setting a /tmp 'noexec' attribute. Since our installer uses the /tmp folder this prevents the .run file to execute the embedded .sh script(s). This will occur even if running the installer as root. There is a way to get around this as we make changes to our installer. You can run the below command from the folder where you have the .run file and the install should succeed. It is worth stressing that whilst ChangeMan ZMF Enterprise Release Option (ERO) release packages are fully aware of base ZMF package behaviour, the opposite is not always true. Hi, This is Keerthana. I'm Senior Software Engineer in TP project at Mitra Innovations. Currently, we are attempting to establish a connection between U2 Python and native Python. Our concern is that what we have done first is used UOPY module to access the subroutine and data file in BP source in XDEMO account using session. But U2 python does not require a session because the u2py module is included in the XDEMO account. But if we want to connect U2 python and native python there must be a configuration or session right? Can we connect this without using a session? Or are there other ways? We checked the .pyconfig file in the UV and tried changing the path to PYHOME and PYLIB there. But we are unable to connect. So Now we are thinking for the connection purpose we can use the any middle ware, Like MVIS. I'm not sure our thought is correct or not. HelloI am trying to install Micro Focus Enterprise Developer 9.0 on Windows Server 2022, but I have an issue. I have checked all requirements stated in documentation related to windows installation, everything is fine. The error is :"Service 'Micro Focus Directory Server' () failed to start. This is a two part question to solve one problem. The first part; does a called subroutine use a new block of memory and address pointer? If so, doe this newly created memory clock have to wait for a time slice before it is processed? Also if the same sub is called multiple times, will use the already created block of memory?Part two; is it possible that calling a subroutine can break a phantom to the point of failure?We suspect our over night phantom process is dying because a tracing file we update with a small sub is killing the phantom.I personally do not, nor have I ever, actually known a phantom to die, because of repeated sub calls. Status: DeliveredChanges have been made to deliver this requirement and the changed code will be seen in ZMF 8.3 patch1. REXX exit users will not need to change anything, the REXX longMsg variable will now allow for up to 512 bytes of usable data (you can put as much as you like into longMsg but only the first 512 bytes will be used). LE exit users will have to, at minimum, recompile their exits to pick up changed copybooks supplied with ZMF 8.3 patch1. If LE users have no need of messages longer than 128 bytes they can continue to use the existing xxxxLONG fixed length fields. If they need more room then they must put a blank in the xxxxLONG field and then proceed to use the new xxxxXLON varchar fields which will accept up to 512 bytes of data.
