Looking for a way to locate the proper attribute in an output record where the appropriate data could end up on different attributes depending on conte Example,  I 1st need to differentiate the type of record, which can be done with something like :    IF INDEX(@ID,"WoJournal",1) THEN <acttion1> else if INDEX(@ID,"PoJournal",1) THEN <action2> ELSE <action3> 2nd, each action will need to find the proper attribute where the "STATUS" is logged. Then it will need to extract the STATUS itself from the line which can use FIELD statements. Hi, I am trying to allocate only the needed amount of memory when working with static tables in cobol. The table(which is part of a data-area) is then used as a parameter in json generate statement. Suppose there are two programs. Program TestA and TestB. TestA calls TestB which is the one responsible to allocate n amount of memory depending on the size of the table. This means that even though the table has a boundary of 50000 items I want that the amount of byte allocated to the data-area should be less than that(depending on the amount of items populated which is known only in runtime).Below is the an example: program-id. TestA as "TestA" environment division. configuration section. data division. working-storage section. 01 foo-pointer. 04 tmp-ptr pointer. 1 tbl-size pic 9(8) value 0. 1 outputarea pic x(53400356) value space. linkage section. 1 fooArea. 2 fooResponse. 3 fooRespOkPayload. 4 fooRespOkCode pic x(10) value space. 4 fooRespOkMessage pic x(100) value space

UFT 2023 is unable to spy the terminal objects in Rumba 6.9 w2h Host access web launcher and I have tried several way to identify and still it is not capturing. Version Rumba WebToHost 6.9.3  Since Internet explorer is stopped and my org blocked it and only way is to use Host access launcher and I am not sure how to automate it..#MainframeAccess#Rumba#EHLAPI32.DLL

Is anyone using IBM's CSSMTP SMTP client to send out the email notifications? Did you have to make any changes to the CMNS$$ENT, ENOTIFY2 sample? We are on v8.2 patch 5. Our reason for our wanting to use CSSMTP is make use of its ability to use AT-TLS when connecting to a remote SMTP server. TIA#ChangeManZMF

Is there a simple way of having selectdb pay attention to the retrieve profile? I am trying to get into the debugger in a program by typing the break key using <ctrl-c>, but all it does is print ^C.  I did BREAK ON before running the program. Is there a different key that needs to be used or how do I break to get into the debugger?

Troy,What terminal emulator are you using? Many of them intercept the CTRL-C key sequence thinking you want to use it for cut and paste. If it looks like all the settings in UV are correct, check the emulator settings.Brian

We're migrating from an old big-endian Solaris compiler (compiler version 5.1.4.0) to VC 9.0.0.59 (patch update 2) on little-endian Linux. We're seeing an extra leading zero on fields defined as COMP.  This field: 03 ct-read pic 9(07) comp value 0. will display as an 8 digit number (not 7 as defined) on Linux: 07754589 On Solaris, it would display as: 7754589 The field is displayed directly using a DISPLAY statement. Compiler options for both platforms are: NOBOUND NOALTER COMP NOCHECK NOCHECKDIV NOTRUNC OPT=3 FASTLINK NOANIM NOCOBIDY OPTSPEED Changing NOTRUNC to TRUNC on Linux results in a completely different number being displayed (using the same static input files): 4531805 Removing both compiler directives COMP and NOTRUNC also removes the leading zero from the display on Linux: 7754589 As part of the migration, we would of course like the output of all of our programs to be the same on both platforms. Hi, We currently upgraded AcuCobol 10.5 to 10.5.1. We are using NPOI to create .xlsx files (Spreadsheets) through a .dll. For run time 10.5, this feature was functioning perfectly. However, after the upgrade to 10.5.1, the .xlsx is not getting generated. The following lines in .dll is saving the .xlsx. using (FileStream fileSave = new FileStream(xlsFilename, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.Write)) { workbook.Write(fileSave); fileSave.Flush(); } It seems to me that the workbook.write has failed. However, no exceptions were displayed. We tried running the program in administrator mode too. It looks to me like some configuration changes need to be done.Could you please help me with this issue. Got a new HP Envy Laptop that I can not figure out waht key combinations to get the BREAK Key for debugging. My old Elitebook was just use the FN + R to send the break key. I talked to HP and they could not answer me unless I went to Level 2 support with a charge. So, does anyone know if I can remap a key somehow via a 2019 server to send a break key. Or can I change the debug somehow to use a different key combination. Any advice would be helpfull As i will try it.

Good morning, I have a system that uses the terminal type "VT220".  A couple of reports that I offer the option of either display or printer require 132 columns to display.  I use the ESC:"[?3h" command to do this expansion and it works fine.  At the end of the report when I attempt to reset the display to 80 columns by issiuing the ESC:"[?3l" command it does not work.  The screen stays in 132 column mode.  Does anybody know how to get the screen back to 80 columns?  The emulator is AccuTerm 8. Hi, We are currently upgrading from 10.3 to 10.4 version of Uniface. And there  is an issue with glypes. The glyps are shown in the first screen and in the next scren it is not visible. We found a patch UNI-28434 (Rocket Uniface Support Resources) but the workaround is stil not working. Have you also experienced this issue and what is the solution?
