From the udt.errlog, the output of a deadlock warning: I can understand most of this, but what does PICK REC mean in this context?
I've been working with a friend on setting up a website that uses the U2 RESTful server. My friend's been doing most of the work. It's been in development but there's a lot of things working. We named the rest server "rest_test". That's not a name that works for production so I'd like to rename it. The problem is, if I right-click on the server in the U2 REST Servers panel the rename function is disabled. I've tried copying the folder to a different name, exporting and importing it. No combination of steps has worked. I also don't like the number of steps you have to go through to "deploy" a rest server. Export the file to a zip, unzip it, go to the u2restdeploy folder run the batch file to start the deploy tool, define where you want the files to be deployed to... This is not a good model if you've got multiple developers making local changes that need to be moved to the server. So here are my questions: How do you rename a rest server? Are there easier ways to go d
Can anyone suggest a video showing how to use a simple HELLO WORLD program in Visual Basic that can be executed and run in Visual Studio Code? I installed the Java JDK as instructed by the Rocket extension but when I run the program it keeps asking me to install the extension (even though the Rocket extension shows as already installed). My simple test program has a suffix of '.vb' but the Rocket instructions said it must be '.b'. Does that mean the extension is only for BASIC and not for VISUAL BASIC programs?!? When I did change my simple program's extension from '.vb' to '.b', I received this message from VSC which I don't understand or know how to correct: Java 11 or Open JDK 11 runtime environment is irregular. Please check your Java environment and settings. Thanks in advance to all who reply.Dan reply to Christian Bristow: Thanks for your reply but apparently, the extension referred to in Stack Overflow is no longer available.
Hello, I am currently working on creating a CentOS Steam 10 installation (latest) with the latest version of UV available as of this post (14.1.1.xx) The installation runs but there are many errors that complain about EGREP not being supported so grep -E is automatically being substituted and after the installation gets to "Installing default Global Basic..." there are thousands of VOC LIB errors. Some things that I learned from the installation is that libnsl and libxcrypt-compat are required to even begin it. Perhaps there are other requirements that are not listed in the basic docs that are "assumed" to be installed on a from scratch OS installation that I need to install? Just want to cover my basis before reverting down one level (CentOS Stream 9) due to the installer just not working. Usually, it's a me problem :) Thank you in advance!
Hello, I've looked online, and from what I can tell: there's no information on either of the question. We've run into an issue where a call is issued, but the operation is terminated or cancelled, but there's no way to signal the same to UniVerse. The other problem we've is: we "believe" we're hitting the maximum connections allowed, which leads to delayed responses on the front end as the call "waits" for the connection to become available again. I wonder is there a way to check the connection availability ahead of time, instead of just sitting there. Thank you!
We have a client requirement to add a QR code to the header of tally slip prints, which are printed directly from D3. Has anyone been able to achieve this?
We recently upgraded our application using U2.Data.Client from version 3.1.1.0 to 3.1.2.0, and we are encountering a different kind of issue with multithreading. Issue on Version 3.1.1.0 Previously, in version 3.1.1.0, our server would spike the CPU usage to 100% and remain at that level. Upon inspecting the thread stack traces, we observed that all threads were stuck on modifying an internal Dictionary inside the ThreadPoolManager: 000000cf40c7de30 00007ffc2322e241 System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2[[System.Int32, mscorlib],[System.__Canon, mscorlib]].Insert(Int32, System.__Canon, Boolean) 000000cf40c7dec0 00007ffbce88c056 U2.Data.Client.U2PoolManager+h.c(System.Object) 000000cf40c7df10 00007ffbce8725bb U2.Data.Client.U2PoolManager.a(U2.Data.Client.U2Connection, System.String ByRef, d ByRef, System.Object ByRef) Issue After Upgrading to Version 3.1.2.0 After upgrading to 3.1.2.0, the CPU no longer spikes to 100%, but all requests are now stuck waiting on: 0000000afd67e248 00007ff
I'm using the latest U2 64-+Bit ODBC Driver Version 7.241.02.9004.The ODBC Connection tests successfully and works perfectly in applications that use ODBC, such as Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Power BI Desktop.I am running a freshly installed local instance of Microsoft SQL Server Developer (64-bit) 15.0.2000.5 on Windows 10 Pro locally.I created a Linked Server connection using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers and it connects to the U2 database successfully, listing out all of the table names. However, I cannot see any columns, nor can I query any data from the U2 tables. If I try scripting a select statement from a table, it says:[MYU2DATABASENAME]...[MYTABLENAME] contains no columns that can be selected or the current user does not have permissions on that object.Again, I can select all columns and data from these U2 Universe tables using the same credentials in other applications via ODBC.I need to be able to query data via a SQL Server Linked Server co

Does Rocket have any future plans for a uvnet comparable for uniData?
Trying to get ODBC working. Not sure how to address this error. Help?
MV folks, We have a GUI client that runs only in Windows to access our MV/Universe application - and am looking for input from other MV community members on Windows functionality / partition / whatever on a Mac for some users at a new customer.
I have installed the DBTOOLS BASIC DEVELOPER TOOL KIT but I am having issues. Here is some info and a couple of issues I am having and would like some suggestions or advice on what to do next or what I may have done wrong. We went through the install steps and see these were installed. The BDT launches but fails to update the subroutines. I set permissions on the folder to /usr/ibm/uv/BP.O to write for everyone but it still fails. When connecting I get the following messages and click OK to update. I have set the permissions to the folder so that everyone has write permissions but still get this error. Since the program launches, I decide to try something simple like opening a program but get this error. The source code does exist in file of the shown in the VOC of CK.DATE. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I have one user who has severe mouse problems inside a spreadsheet that has been executed from AccuTerm. If the same spreadsheet is opened from Excel itself or from the file explorer, everything works normally. The problem is a severe lag in any mouse commands. If the user clicks on a cell, it is 2 to 5 seconds before the cell that was clicked on becomes selected. If the user tries to drag a selection in order to select multiple cells, there is also a severe lag. The user is on the latest version of Accuterm I have which is 8.1.2.1137. The mouse pattern file is identical to what I and other people are using. Has anyone encountered this before?
My customer, UniVerse 13.5, is running on Nashville Metro Government's internal cloud. The network security is so restrictive that it is difficult to get work done for the customer. I have requested information from the "mypickcloud" website but have received no response. Does anyone know if that cloud still exists and if so how to contact them. If they do not exist does anyone have recomendations on other clouds where UniVerse could reside? I have looked at AWS website and am buffaloed by the complexity of their options. I would simply want to move my customer's system and data to a cloud server for day-to-day operations. Dale
After being unsuccessful installing the server side of AccuTerm 8 either from my Cisco VPN connection or from a local to the network workstation, Metro's IT department suggested that I install the AccuTerm client onto the server and try the "install server" step from there. The results have been pretty much identical. I have copied some screenshots below. The process has completed only the establishment of the FTBP directory and the installation of FTPBPINST into that directory. This leaves me with three questions: Has anyone been successful in installing the server side of AccuTerm on a windows, (2022) server? Is the windows server just not possible? Is there a manual step by step process that I can follow to make this installation? I sure would appreciate some help. Dale Thanks
I have a customer who is attempting to setup a Fedex machine, connecting it to Unidata to transfer data. The same ODBC driver works perfectly on another system. On this system, we get odd errors and I have zero clue how to research them. For example: DataSource.Error: ODBC: ERROR [SICOO] [Rocket U2][U2ODBC][1801668]Error ID:33 Severity: ERROR Facility: DBCAPERR - The UV/ODBC server or the underlyingdatabase do not provide the requested feature.Details:DataSourceKind=OdbcDataSourcePath=dsn=upsodbc This happened when attempting to retrieve data through the 32-bit ODBC connector using a 32-bit Excel. It was able to authenticate and return a list of table names, but when attempting to view the fields inside of the tables, this was the error.
Hi, one of the fun things to do with source code these days is to put it into version control. VS Code makes that easy. One of the biggest version control repositories is GitHub. However, MV basic languages languish in there as unidentified soup. eg the Rocket multivalue-lab home tab language break-down mentions not a jot of MV basic of any flavour. Linguist is the community project which supplies language syntax and ID for GitHub. Its grammar is very close to VS Code's (and the syntax part of the definitions can be controlled by Rocket corporate). Could it be possible Rocket will, one day soon, provide the Linguist definition for some or all of the MV basic flavours? Cheers.
Is there a document somewhere that lists Unidata limitations? i.e. longest TCL command line, maximum number of indexes, maximum memory per process, that sort of thing?
I recently upgraded a customer's UniVerse to 11.3.5 and am ready to install a new AccuTerm 8 server account. I am unable to figure out how to create that ACCUTERM account. I'm used to Unix and Linux menus to create an account but on winndows I cannot find such a menu or a "CREATE.ACCOUNT" verb in the UV VOC. I vaugely remember a windows administration program, but can't remember it's name and don't know where to find it. I tried copying the XDEMO account and entering an ACCUTERM item in the UV.accounts file but that didn't work. Unless I can get the ACCUTERM account established, I'm afraid the server side of AccuTerm won't work. Dale
I visited a customer office to install Accuterm on their workstations. On 4 of the 5 workstations I was able to authorize the AccuTerm using an "Administrative User and Password" issued by their IT department. On the last workstation I ran as administrator, I entered the user and password when prompted, but when I entered the authorization screen the "Authorize AccuTerm" icon was dimmed and I was unable to complete the authorization. They purchased a 10 user version. Does this mean that the administrative user issued by IT was not valid for that workstation? All the actions leading up to that appeared to be normal and identical to the other 4 workstations.
I am on a Universe system and it does not save the TCL command stack from session to session. How do i turn that on and have it shared for a user over multiple sessions? Also, what file is the stack saved in?
Hi, In the same version of U2.Data.Client (3.1.1), the string data format I retrive from a database is different, by changing the library from .NET to .NET Framework, using the codepage 850. In this case, in the .NET Framework is correct and with .NET the "special" characters are not shown properly. I'm portuguese and the problem is in the accent words like á, é ç. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue? Best regards, Jose Baptista
Been using basic Wintegrate for a long time. Now, I would like to construct some GUI screens but cannot locate the designer tool. Is is still out there? If so, where can I look? I've already scanned all of the manuals cannot find a reference as to where to find it (i.e. how to start it. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all I'm trying to replicate some legacy code using uopy, but I've found an issue that's hard to solve. This is a LONG process, both server and local side, so timeouts may appear. Using the older UVIC32.dll code we can simply reconnect to a session after it has been closed by the server. But, after health_check returns false to uopy I can't reconnect to the server, and the connect() method is not connecting. Is there a way to do this?
