Hello Team,Currently we have Enterprise developer already available in the system , I am trying to integrate VS Code using Rocket COBOL extension to do a BRD documentation using the Co-pilot features. We have two copybooks extension ,one with CPY and another COPYCOB. The intelisense is  able to identify the CPY copybooks but not the COPYCOB eventhough the extensions are mapped. Is there possibility to re-use the XML files of MFED for the integration of VS code.ThanksSanoop

in Basic.  I have a program which calls a RESTApi and returns results and puts it into a txt file.   When I read the test file with another basic program, an INDEX funtion that I need to perform doesn't appear to work (returns zero).  When I put the file contents into a basic variable, the INDEX function works correctly.   I’ve looked at the file for special or non-printable characters which might cause the INDEX function not to work, and the file itself is clean.  What if anything else can I try  (and I’ve tried a bunch)..

I am trying to make use of the ISO2002 option and ISO 2002 style program prototypes.  I’m running in to two, perhaps unrelated, issues.Even when I specify $set repository"update on checking on", no external repository file appears to be created. Hi.In native COBOL I have an OO Dictionary that stores entries of the following group level item and this is incredibly fast and suits my purposes perfectly.I’ve converted this program to .NET COBOL and am really struggling to get this to perform anywhere close to native COBOL because of the overhead converting the PIC entries to a string when outputting to and retrieving from the dictionary.Do you have any suggestions that may help me to get the process to be performant?        01 def-fieldtouse.          03 def-any-output       pic x.              03 def-num-cols         pic x(2) comp-5.               03 def-next                 pic 9(18).          03 def-filename          pic x(100).          03 def-col-array.             05 def-columns occurs 800.               07 def-col-name   pic x(100).               07 def-col-type     pic x(15).  

Is there a way to quickly find or navigate to a certain program by name in online editing? Search bar gives results only for the already opened programs. 

Hi,I have found a changes in behaviour with the sql disconnect function between native COBOL (using ODBC) and .NET COBOL (using ADO) and was wondering whether these are deliberate or notScenario: I have a primary SQL connection ‘MAIN’ which is used for the majority of processing. However I have two other connections ‘ADMIN’ and ‘ALTERNATE’ which are used to perform elevated functions (ADMIN) or functions which I want disconnected from main (ALTERNATE)In native COBOL when I disconnected from one of these secondary connections it automatically reverted to the MAIN connection however in .NET COBOL this is not the case and I am finding I need to issue a ‘set connection’ .Also in native COBOL when the connection is closed it physically kills the connection to SQL - i.e. the SPID is no longer active. In NET COBOL whilst the connection is logically closed I see that the SPID still exists in SQL.  Are these changes deliberate? Peter 

All of my requests being sent via RESTful API that previously worked have recently been receiving a 429 HTTP status code indicating too many requests have been sent to the API.I'm getting the following response:{"ErrorTitle" : "Error 429 - Too Many Requests","ErrorMessage" : "Session limit has been reached. Please try again later."}The error is a general HTTP message, not specific to the product.How do I mitigate this obstacle? What is the admin configuration setting in the Enterprise Server to extend the session limit and relax the rate-limiting?The Retry-After header is an HTTP response header that informs the client how long it should wait before making another request is commonly used in scenarios where the server cannot process the request immediately, such as rate-limiting or scheduled downtime. I do not want any of the rate-limiting or scheduled downtime that I’m currently experiencing.

We are attempting to submit a JCL job to our local enterprise solution server via the ESMAC JES control API and are receiving a response with code 400 and message stating “No Origin of Referer header present.” How do we configure the server to allow access control from all origins?

I have some data held in a field which I am painting on a DSP. Currently the field is set to statictext, but if I make the surrounding structure (div etc) have a fixed width, the field contents overflow it. I want to set them to wrap inside the width. However, the STATICTEXT field type translates to SPAN, and SPAN does not follow width or word-wrap, what DSP field type can I use doe display only text which follows the wordwrap stuff. I tried making the field ‘ATTRIBUTESONLY’ but then the text is not displayed (the ‘static text’ from the HTS is shown instead...) Regards, Iain

One user has a PC with larger monitors that run at high resolution and when they run a Jwalk client in Full Screen mode it is not proportionally scale. Instead you end up with a relatively small area for the IBM i interface (approx 30%) and a vary large boarder (the remaining 70%)Is there a setting I can adjust to change this to improved the way the Jwalk client scales?We are using Jwalk v42c9 as a locally installed client, with a copy of all the panels stored with it on a Windows 11 PC.  Any advice would be much appreciated.Steve BThe Friendly Techie

I have successfully downloaded Visual COBOL. Reading the pdf, I find it talks about which versions of Visual Studio are supported. I think the doc may be somewhat outdated since it doesn’t talk about .NET 8 or Visual Studio Community 2022 edition. The first recommended topic to view is 8 years old, so I don’t think it applies. I am withholding installation until I know it will work with my system. Hi,I develop solutions using SB+ and there are some common variables which are imported into just about every BASIC program that I have. Some examples are;       $INCLUDE DMSKELCODE COMMON      $INCLUDE DMSKELCODE STANDARD.EQU Can someone please tell me why my "INCLUDES" configuration is not working? We currently have a native COBOL application that uses dynamic SQL (via OpenESQL) to fetch, insert and update into Microsoft SQL.This includes varbinary(max) columns which we have working and I suspect it was based on the demo which was available from this link https://community.rocketsoftware.com/rocket-visual-cobol-28/demo-using-the-varbinary-max-column-type-from-cobol-4560. Unfortunately the link to the actual demo is no longer available.I now have the fun and games of trying to convert this logic to .NET core Visual COBOL and I am really struggling to work out how to ‘stitch’ the 65k blocks back together into the correct format and would really appreciate some guidance on this (the same goes for splitting it into the 65k blocks to insert/update).Is there any chance for the demo mentioned to be converted into .NET Core VC so that I can refer to it and work out what I need to do?Thanks in advance 

We have a cash register program that prints directly to a receipt printer via LPT1.One of our customers do not have their printer setup that way, and it was working for them for years, and then all of a sudden, it stopped.  Here is what the customer has said about their setup in our support ticket: “These are IP-based Star sp712 printers that are designed to be plugged into the network (not a USB or LPT port).  Initially, we had the receipts printing and the cash drawer opening but there is something wonky in the cash register app related to if a user has the option for printer selection enabled.  Once a user with that option tries to print it boogers up the computer for all users in that when they attempt to print, it will open the drawer but not actually print.  Meanwhile, we can use a legit program like notepad or Word and it prints and opens the drawer properly.We went to another PC not at the counter and got that to work and also confirmed on both that it wasn't a windows user per

Hi! I am currently testing Visual COBOL 11 against my software, and when I run a program that has Database Connectors in them, I get a 9D,25 error on all the SQL tables that are in the program.Copilot tells me that the 9D,25 means the XFD is corrupt, but I re-created the XFDs and I am still getting the error. I re-created the Aculock DB, and made sure that my ACUFH file is pointing to the correct folder, and I have a valid license.  Is there anything else I can look at? 

Rocket has an Enterprise Analyzer Certified Professional - L4XX training course. The start of the course has a hands-on lab for installing a demo workspace. Task 2 step 5 is to “Add sources manually”; the screenshot in step 7 shows this being done from C:\EA Sources\BankDemo\sources, but as far as I can tell, this is not installed with Enterprise Analyzer. (There are some demo files it puts in every workspace but not the full demo.So where is someone taking the class supposed to get the demo files?The training videos several time to go to the “attachment tab”. There is no attachment tab in the training site, as far as I can find. Nor anywhere else with downloads.I happen to have a .zip file with what I think you need, but only due to another case I had with Rocket.My question is: Where is someone taking the class supposed to get the demo sources from? Is this something that was lost in the migration from Open Text to Rocket?

Hi,I have found that the EXIT PARAGRAPH doesn’t work in .NET COBOL. Is this an error or is it deliberate, and if it is deliberate then is there an alternative?Thanks in advance

The search (specific and AI) functions on the docs webpage appears to be broken, no results are returned even when very specific request are made, and the Uniface product is explicitly selected. Any idea when it’s coming back? Is there any locally installed resource a programmer can fall back on when the web is busted? Regards, Iain

Is there a limit to the value length in a select statement?When I run:   SELECT OP.MANIFESTED.HIST WITH TRACK.NBR = "420015859261290986498138210077"I get multiple rows back with TRACK.NBR different from above. For example:420015859261290986498136795170420015859261290986498151260165420015859261290986498151221500Is there a limit to how many characters it’s comparing in the select value?Other explanations?I removed the indexes off a copy of the file and I still get the same result, so it’s not a bad index issue.
