Anyone ran into the following? And knows a solution?Environment:Uniface 10.4.02.58 on Windows 10 and RedHat 9.4 Linux Character set for I/O ($DEF_CHARSET: - Windows: CP1252 (default) - Linux: LATIN1 (default)Oracle Database 19c, NLS_CHARACTERSET defined as WE8ISO8859P15; this is supposed to be ISO 8859-15 including £ and € GBP pound sign £ stored in a database table or returned in the text of a Stored Package is displayed in Uniface (both Windows GUI and Linux CHUI) as #. Setting $DEF_CHARSET on the client(s) and userver to UTF8 helps, but has a negative side effect on tables with column LONG RAW, such as PRATT. 

I patched to patch 026 a couple of days ago and my colleagues and I have noticed it no longer responds to Ctrl-F or Ctrl-H in the proc editor, and find and replace now require the right click menu.  This is continually catching me out, and I and winding up typing search strings into proc because Ctrl-F has not brought up the find window.  How do I get the shortcuts back? Do we have a version of U2 Toolkit for .NET Developer with U2.Data.Client that supports any .NET 6 or preferably .NET 8 applications? I'm struggling to find information on it.

I've been working with a friend on setting up a website that uses the U2 RESTful server.  My friend's been doing most of the work. It's been in development but there's a lot of things working. We named the rest server "rest_test". That's not a name that works for production so I'd like to rename it. The problem is, if I right-click on the server in the U2 REST Servers panel the rename function is disabled. I've tried copying the folder to a different name, exporting and importing it. No combination of steps has worked. I also don't like the number of steps you have to go through to "deploy" a rest server.  Export the file to a zip, unzip it, go to the u2restdeploy folder run the batch file to start the deploy tool, define where you want the files to be deployed to...  This is not a good model if you've got multiple developers making local changes that need to be moved to the server. Been using basic Wintegrate for a long time. Now, I would like to construct some GUI screens but cannot locate the designer tool. Is is still out there? If so, where can I look? I've already scanned all of the manuals cannot find a reference as to where to find it (i.e. how to start it. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

i have FCService running ok on our almalinux 9.4 server, but i notice its binding to 0.0.0.0 which i'm sure is ideal when your D3 & Flashconnect are running on separate hardware. in our case they're on the same physical box, so i'd prefer if I could get FCService to bind to 127.0.0.1 instead. (like TLLicMgr does) is this possible? can i use something like a bind: command in flashconnect.conf? or maybe the port statement, instead of port 1505 would port 127.0.0.1:1505 work? thanks in advance!

back with another question, hopefully this is the last one! when we downloaded d3 linux 10.3.4 there were also three patch files available, 17, 18, & 19 is this a situation where patch 19 contains all the updates from prior ones? or is each patch its own standalone fix? basically what i'm asking is, do we have to apply every patch individually & in order? or can we just apply patch 19 and ignore the prior two? thanks in advance!

i'm working on a fresh install of almalinux 9.4 and d3 10.3.4, setting up a new box that we plan to migrate a much older d3 install onto within the next month or so. i don't have a ton of experience with alma (or centos7 which the old box is running, or any other rhel variants), so i'm kind of figuring my way through as i go. anyways the problem i've run into now is TLLicMgr is failing to start on its own, and i tracked it down to systemctl reporting that rslm has failed.  here's the error message i get when i do systemctl status rslm.service systemd[1]: Starting Rocket Software License Manager... I have this old memory that there is a way to install a subroutine or some program in SB+ 5.x that will allow passwords to be evaluated for length, content, complexity, etc.  I can't find any reference to it in any of the documentation; does anyone remember this or is this a faulty memory?

New to this so please bear with me... I am trying to use 'submitrequest' for the first time to pull contact from a URL. Below is what I have thus far but it doesn't appear to be working. Does anyone have experience doing this? If I manually use the URL in a browser, it works. Is there any way to disable the whole-screen copy when there is no active selection? When pressing Ctrl-C (or Ctrl-Ins if that's what's defined in settings) with no active selection, the entire screen gets copied. If you then hit Ctrl-V it pastes the entire contents of the screen. This is a big problem because it you accidentally hit Ctrl-C then Ctrl-V when editing, you end up with garbage in your file, and if there was a "fi" on the screen it becomes permanent, requiring restoring from backup. Example - after the first "12", I intended to hit Ctrl-V to paste in "r/7/9" and instead managed to hit both Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V at the same time, which ended up pasting the contents of the screen and filing some records I had intended to edit that are now in a questionable state. Thankfully this is a tame example and I will be able to correct them without restoring from backup, but it's still frustrating have to do cleanup. Both items are strings. They're not equal. It seems Universe is doing some kind of conversion on them that makes them equal. If I convert the strings to integers it knows they're not equal. If I concatenate a letter on to either string it knows they're not equal.  My client was using smaller numbers in a field but a new specification requires and 18 digit number. They don't want to to through all there programs that compare these numbers and modify them with a alpha character or int conversion. Does anyone know what's going on and how to best fix it?

Hi All, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to create an SBXA Character Screen with more than 80x25 characters. I have tried the following: Terminal definition in SBXA Standard and Condensed Column/Row 132/43 Terminal setup in SBClient Wyse60 with 132X43 In principle, everything works, although I have to edit the screen definition with the screen editor to enter the window coordinates 0,0,131,41 because in /SD it isn't accepted. However, the problem is that not all characters are displayed correctly. For example, in the screen I created for testing purposes, texts are not outputted from line 20 onwards, but the field contents are still visible. It seems that something with the cursor Addresing goes wrong by trying this hack... I know I'm pushing the boundaries of SBXA with this, but I want to give it a try to gain some time until we have the replacement of character screens with GUI ready.. Greetings!Can someone point me to where on the Rocket site I can find high-level documentation regarding UniVerse EDA?  I have the docs that come with the UV 1.3.5 Documentation packet, but those are more setup and admin.  I'm looking for something I can use to help explain to those above me what it is and why we should use it - kind of like an executive summary/white paper.  I am hoping for more than the page that says "EDA is wonderful - contact us for more info", but less than the config/admin docs. Hi, We operate D3/Linux 10.2 in a VM that has 16Gb of RAM assigned to it. As our database is currently only 6.1 Gb in total, is there anyway to pre or force load the entire database into RAM rather than just waiting on it to be loaded during the normal course of use?  Vincent
