We use mvBase extensively, along with Accuterm (GUI). We need to re-platform to another mv product as mvBase is EOL. We were all ready to go down the OpenQM  route, then Rocket aquirred the product and all development seems to have stopped! ( We have been deliberating the move for some time.) We have  looked at jBase and D3.  Rocket are pushing us down the D3 the path. I don't see many posts about D3 improvements, it all appears to be Universe or Unidata. So my question is, what would be your platform of choice if you were moving away from your current mv version, or are you happy with your current platform for the foreseeable future (5+ years). Trying to understand how the login process works on Windows when we use Accuterm and telnet to the Universe server. One of our users gets this message: Welcome to the Rocket U2 UniVerse Telnet Server.Enter user name: hrs\\BOBEnter password:This directory is not set up for uniVerse.Would you like to set it up (Y/N)? Our other users can login to the database just fine. All users should be connecting to the single Universe directory we have on the server. What directory is this BOB user trying to connect to? Hi all,  I have been given the task of allowing users to auto login to a PICK database through Accuterm. I have been given a config ".atsc" file that when double-clicked starts Accuterm and has a tel-net connection ready to be logged into. I have recorded a Macro that allows the user to press Ctrl + F1 which then logs the user in. What needs to happen is when the config file named patmore.atsc is double clicked, the macro runs automatically after Accuterm starts. Hi everyone,   I have a client with a successful D3 10.3 Linux installation who needs to meet auditing requirements by testing their Disaster Recovery (DR) procedure. The DR test is an annual event where they spin up a Linux server with a D3 instance and restore their database and applications.   Rocket's policy, as outlined in the Rocket MV End User Handbook (page 28), states that when running D3 in a High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) setup, matching licenses with unique serial numbers and identical configurations are required. This includes scenarios like using U2 Replication or any secondary mechanisms for failover, all of which need additional licenses.   My client is resistant to replicating their D3 Production environment and is also hesitant about the alternative solution of maintaining a separate D3 machine with minimal configuration. They’ve pointed out that Oracle allows a separate server setup "for the duration of their DR testing" free of charge. &n

I am writing a basic program to execute programs in phantom mode. Right now, the main program executes all of the individual programs at 1 am. Will be adding in features to specify what time to start each individual program at, what frequency (daily,monthly,etc), pause the individual program . If you can think of any other features that may be helpful, please let me know. Eventually I plan on releasing the program for anyone's use. Hello, I am hoping someone has some insight into an issue we are having with a few of our clients on Windows  Server 2022.  If we connect to their system via telnet with wIntegrate or other telnet emulator, if we are inactive for more than a few seconds, we get disconnected.  After reconnecting, a license is hung because Universe still sees that connection as active.  We do not believe that the connection timed out and we have even set Universe so there is no timeout, as well as set the keepalive settings.  We believe the issue is related to Windows Server 2022 or a firewall setting, not sure which.  Since we are not the client's IT staff, we do not always have access to investigate, so we need suggestions on what to check.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  We do not recall having this issue on older versions of Windows Server prior to 2022.------------------------------Joseph von ArxSoftware DeveloperData Management Associates Inc DMACincinnati OH US---------------------------

I have several customers both on UV and on D3 that have programs that send email. AT is using OLE to talk to outlook.This has stopped working the second the new outlook was forced on my customers. As the result of a post by Bryan Buchanan I have started looking at using the Java API to access Rocket D3 10.4 on AlmaLinux 8.9. I have downloaded the file MVSPJavaAPI.zip and successfully compiled and run MVSPJavaAPI/samples/mvspTest.java. When I used this program the connection was instant and all other accesses were also instant.  I then attempted to create my own simple Java program based on what I could see in mvspTest.java. When I ran it I found that there was a 2 to 3 second delay when making the connection. The data retrieval part of the program worked and was instant. Hi, I am facing problem with python where it is using /tmp to install pip modules and libraries instead of it's own directory site-packages.
