I am trying to restore some data from a backup.  The file itself and dictionary came over, but the X_file was not restored.  I could probably get it restored but it took a week for the IT department to get me this much so I'd like to just get rid of the index.  Prior to Unidata 8 I would fix this by creating an index file for any other file, and then I'd copy it over to X_file and that worked.  However, that doesn't work with Unidata 8.  DELETE.INDEX file ALL doesn't work because it says it can't open the file.  Is there any trick in Linux or Unidata that I could use to tell this file it shouldn't have to open the X_file to be able to retrieve the contents?------------------------------Kevin KingPresidentPrecision Solutions, Inc.Longmont CO US------------------------------

Hi, We are trying to configure and use Sentinel but seeing an issue.During the RMS install we provided the installer with path to the license file .The install hppened without any issues. Now when trying to open IDE, we get some license errors. I am using Visual Cobol for Windows Version 7 I have a Visual COBOL SCREEN SECTION FORM with a number of modifiable fields. I use the CONTROL clause to dynamically make fields modifiable or protected When i protect a modifiable field it will still tab to that field. I have tried setting the ADISCF option "Control of whether protected fields are skipped" to skip (2), but that doesn't seem to have any effect Is there any way to get ADIS to skip fields if they are protected? I wish to display a bitmap or jpg file using W$BITMAP.  I want to know the width & height so I can show it in a floating window that is the correct size.  Can anyone offer a suggestion ?  Also it would be nice if there was an option with the WBITMAP-DISPLAY op to resize or scale the graphic smaller by a %

Hello,We have a batch application that is doing some background process. So far for this batch application, we need to add an infinite loop in trigger ApStart like:while (1)  ; do some background process  activate "BACKGROUND".backgroupdprocess()  ; sleep some time  sleep (10000)endwhileIf we don't add this loop in the apStart trigger, the applications stops immediately at the end of the trigger. Problem is then that we cannot have a timer working : the receiveMessage trigger is never fired. Is there any other way to start a batch application and prevents it from stopping unless we use the apexit instruction ? Or is there any other reason that the receiveMessage trigger is not fired ? If i run a program that uses DBCONNECT/ACU4GL to access an MS/SQL Data base, and it crashes, When I run the program again i get a 9A error. This appears to be because the lock table is not updated to remove any locks. How can i reset the lock table after a crash or should i use another approach? (We are trying to shift our CS to browser, but it's going to have to be hybrid from some time yet...)And a dsp to go with it. In the DSP I have defined  weboperation doquit ;Called by wrapper quit program javascript window.unifaceTriggers("web_quit") endjavascript end​ which shows in the dspjs/component.js file as  , doquit:function(){ window.unifaceTriggers("web_quit") } Which seems okay. When I try to trigger this from the component using :- $fieldhandle(d_html)->$widgetoperation("JS:doquit")​ With the 'inspect' function running, I can see the doquit function in the sources, but it gives the error  VM712:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: doquit is not defined at <anonymous>:1:1 As does trying to run doquit() from the console Running window.unifaceTriggers("web_quit")  from the console, correctly activate a trigger on d_html (and closes the program)

hello folks,On large system running hundreds of users on the same application, very often I am faced with uniBASIC runtime errors in generic subroutines for which I do not have the source codes. Most of the time the problem is due to badly initialized variable by the calling program.The difficulty lies in identifying the calling program, knowing that errlog refers to the subroutine without showing the callstack.Does anyone have any idea how to capture the callstack and determine which program to fix?Here some samples from errlog :  Bad data “14/0/21” for conversion “D2-”. Unconverted data used for selection.​ Program “SB.EVAL.EXP”: Line 276, Variable “$R95” previously undefined. Empty string used Program “SB.GEN.DRIV.I”: Line 548, Nonnumeric data when numeric required. Zero used. Program “SB.EVAL.EXP”: Line 121, Nonnumeric data when numeric required. Zero used

Are there any UniVerse utilities that would show the commands run from a specific port?  When certain problems arise, this would be a great troubleshooting tool. One scenario would be to track activities from TCL at that port. Another scenario would be to track activities run from the initial TCL-launched programs It would also be helpful to have the date and time of those commands.  If not a utility, what U2 BASIC functions/commands exist that might be utilized in a monitoring program? Connecting via ODBC, getting an error code of 39204.   Familiar with 39202, (which is usually invalid chars in passwd), but haven't seen this before and can't seem to find it in documentation.    Google search found a few references, but none that seemed pertinent - and there's nothing in this forum regarding it.I suspect that it has to do with user/domain authentication, but that's more hunch than fact based.So, that being said - can anyone point me to what this error code means?Thank you.------------------------------Allen EgertonDeveloperSS&C Technologies IncCT US------------------------------

In the past, we provided each patch update as an overlay—a zip file that you unzipped and copied over your existing installation. We now provide a self-executing electronic distribution (edist) of the latest version.   Community Edition users might have already noticed this feature with their patch updates. Now we're making it standard for Enterprise Edition users as well.  Note: This feature is only available for Windows platforms. How does it work? Using the provided edist (e.g., swinuf100401w64.exe), the installer automatically detects that there is an existing installation in the specified location and will then go into upgrade mode. There is no need to install a new version alongside your existing one or migrate your sources. Hi, We are trying to compile a Uniface application by installing it on a Cloud build Agent (i.e. build machine in the cloud). We have been successful in doing so, however,  when the actual compilation process begins it tries to fetch files into a database server. We have the enterprise version of Uniface so the database is hosted on-premise in a SQL server. The connection between cloud and the SQL server database is causing significant latency in the file import process thereby lengthening the build time.I wanted to know, why does Uniface need to have a database connection to perform a compilation?  I believe the database is used as a code repository to store the code temporarily during the compilation process. Hi allFirst time posting...Im connecting successfully to universe, using uopy.connect. with the session i can run a command on the server, however every subsequent call to the server calling cmd.run() (please see below) results in the following error:UOError: Error [39207] : Error occurred on server. Hello everybody,with 10.3.03.008 the Informix connector supports now a maximum key length of 511.I would appreciate if the Informix Connector would also support a wider field and table name length.
