Critical CVEs affecting z/OS Curl were published recently (Oct 20th) that may impact customers of Rocket Open AddDev for Z: CVE-2023-38545 , CVE-2023-38546. We have completed new builds of Git and Curl that address these vulnerabilities that affect version 2.0.6 and may affect older versions as well. A new build of Rocket's Open AppDev for Z version 2.0.6.1 has been prepared, tested and is ready now for download from Rocket's secure conda channel server. Other vulnerabilities fixed in this update include: CVE-2023-35945, related to Envoy a cloud service proxy and rated at 7.5 on NIST. Hi, we works with Visual Cobol runing in UNIX servers and our BBDD use UTF-8 encodig. Now we are starting to transfer informatión with other companies using API´s. The problem we have in this moment is that we recive the information ANSI encode and we need convert it to UTF-8 encode. is there some way to do this in cobol?

Version 8.1.1 removes the requirement to have a live connection to Rocket software to authorize and activate AccuTerm. We have been running the same software for several years using AcuCOBOL runtime 10.2 on a Windows network with an Oracle database. Everything is fine without error and then randomly we get an error that gives very little information.  Just a message that says "ProgramName: Not a COBOL Program".  Any idea what would case this? 

Hi, I am hoping someone on here has played with RTE using z/OS zCX containers.    I currently have RTE WE 10.1.5.0065 running successfully under z/OS V2.5 in USS with IBM supplied NODE.JS version 18.14.2. My question is about running RTE in a z/OS ZCX container as documented in the administrators guide. For the zCX container, I have s390x/node.js V20 docker image downloaded s390x/node - Docker Image | Docker Hub here. However, what is not clear in the admin guide is whether or not I need to use the extracted download image for z/OS USS which is the larger .pax file on your website, or do I use the extracted .tar file instead?  I think the Linux .tar download is what I need, and have been using to create the docker image. I actually had the docker build run successfully with the .tar version, but had issues because the first s390x/node.js package was the "slim" version, which i hadnt noticed, and doesnt contain everything needed. RTE startup had errors, and i couldnt connect to it, so I

Status: New IdeaI am using both VSC and IDz to do various tasks (create/edit JCL, create/edit REXX, etc.) that are easier in an IDE than just connecting to the green screens via a terminal emulator package. However, I cannot find context menus to perform ADMIN functions (stub submit jobs, check baseline or staging libraries, etc.). Is this something that you can look into? From Product Support Lifecycle for ChangeMan ZMF v8.2 product, the Current Maintenance End Date is now 30 Sep 2025. www.screencast.com/.../mf4fvc6vE7Y On the other hand, in the platform matrix document for each patch release for this version shows Operating system platform supported. For instance, z/OS 2.5 is supported for ChangeMan ZMF v8.2 patch 06 but I am not sure if this Changeman version is/will be supported in z/OS 3.1 Since the Current Maintenance End Date is now 30 Sep 2025, how can I know if I need to upgrade my ChangeMan ZMF v8.2 if the z/OS is upgraded (for instance, from z/OS 2.5 to z/OS 3.1)?. Apparently, now I would not need to upgrade my ChangeMan v8.2 version. isn't like that? ZMF 8.3 changed the behaviour of RACF password and password phrase processing for users connecting to a ZMF Server instance from non-mainframe user interfaces (e.g. ZDD, ZMF4ECL, zMobile, the Rest Services API web app, etc.). Specifically, the input password or password phrase is no longer automatically folded to uppercase even if the RACF PASSWORD(NOMIXEDCASE) option is set. Customers should ensure that they test these non-mainframe connections as part of their ZMF 8.3 mainframe software upgrade process to verify that these changes have no adverse impact in their particular environment. 1. We were using the HP-UX !uuidgen command to create guids for an integration to Salesforce.com. We have installed an SDK on Windows server to give us the same capability, but we don't know how to execute Windows commands from Unidata (Unibasic). Here is the command we are trying to execute: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Windows Kits\\10\\bin\\10.0.22621.0\\x86>uuidgen.exeThe command will generate a guid: 7c6c5a30-7d67-47d1-aa17-72f7b2652db3 2. On HP-UX, we had many processes scheduled to run in a crontab. On the Windows server, we know we can use Scheduled Tasks, but we don't know the syntax to set up these Unidata (Unibasic) scripts/processes. Thanks. Hi ! I have installed a docker image for uniface on a ec2 linux machine. I have also installed tomcat to serve the web content. There is a simple static page developed in uniface IDE which I am trying to invoke through tomcat. The tomcat is connected to the docker image through web.xml. When I try to access the page from browser, after some time it fails with message err=-25: getsrv: handle_wait wait failed . So my guess is tomcat is forwarding the request but the urouter is showing this error. Can somebody help me in right direction ?
