Hi, I'm trying to fetch a Micro focus COBOL-DB2 (SQL server) Cursor and encounter the error, "Load error : file 'FETCH' error code: 173, pc=0, call=1, seg=0 173 Called program file not found in drive/directory". There are other Cursors in the same program and they seem to be working file. Hi! My program is writing to an XML-file. 1. A numeric field with two decimals, f1, is declared pic 9(5)v99.  When writing 42.00 to f1 the result on xml file is <f1>42</f1>. I want both decimal 00 to be on the xml file. When a decimals is for instance 10 the output for decimals is 1 and if it is 01 the output is 01 . So it is always when the last decimal is 0 they disappear from output.  When declaring f1 pic 9(5).99 is the result <f1>00042.00</f1>. The decimals is ok now but I do not want the leading zeroes. When declaring f1 pic z(4)9.99 is the result <f1>   42.00</f1>. Now are leading zeroes and decimals ok. But I do not want leading spaces. How can I have a result like <f1>42.00</f1>? I am trying to pass an argument to my AcuToWeb probram using the following link: 127.0.0.1:3000/ I am sending out hundreds of emails and I have an UNSUBSCRIBE program that I want to launch if the email recipient so desires. The program launches OK with the right alias, but the specified CHAINING argument has spaces in it. I have it running with debug and can see nothing in the field Also, I tried    ACCEPT WS-COMMAND-LINE FROM COMMAND-LINE.   and nothing shows up in that either.#passargumentstoAcuToWeb#acutoweb#10.4.1

Hi , Here's a question about how to create project for [EXEC SQL INCLUDE] Copy Books. I'm using Visual Cobol for Eclipse on Redhat . I know I can create a [copy book library] or [COBOL Project] for saving Copy Books only, and Other Projects that only contains COBOL Program can use these Copy Books by setting [Micro Focus -> Build Path -> Copy Books]. But I also have some Copy Books for [EXEC SQL INCLUDE] , and seems I cannot use them by this way. How to create a project for these [EXEC SQL INCLUDE Copy Books] ? Like the following Projects 1.  Project1   ---- only contains [Main COBOL Program] 2.  Project2   ---- only contains [Sub COBOL Program] 3.  Project3   ---- only contains Copybooks(both for normal Call statement and EXEC SQL INCLUDE) ? the EXEC SQL is for Pro*COBOL Preprocessor for Oracle. Is it possible to launch a program via AcuToWeb and pass variables to the program via the URL? Example: the user is on a web page (HTML CSS, not AcuToWeb) that displays a list of departments. The user clicks on a department. We want to call a Cobol program to display or modify that department. We need to pass the department number to the program via the URL, e.g.: myhost:3000/&dept=ABC Thanks.

My company would like to know if such a tool is available.  It would convert Dialog System screens to Windows Forms.  I know that Micro Focus has worked on such a tool in the past and believe it has also been worked on by Micro Focus Partners. Hi all, We want to prevent users from running more than instance of the same app. In other words, only one instance of  the app should be allowed at any given time. Is there a way to do it through compiler options or only at OS level? Thank you. 

I'm using Visual Cobol For Eclipse on Redhat Linux. There's some [EXEC SQL ~] Code for Oracle in my project so I'm trying to compile them. I've checked [ Micro Focus > Build Configurations > COBOL > SQL Preprocessor] and selected [Pro*COBOL], but while compiling , it shows error [sh cannot find procob]. I think it because of I never installed [Oracle Pro* COBOL] on my Redhat Linux. So I downloaded instance of [Pro* COBOL] from here https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/instant-client/precompiler-downloads.html#license-lightbox But I don't know how to install it, or maybe I have to install full Oracle Server? Please help, Thanks. 

When trying to register for free trial of Visual Cobol PE for Visual Studio 2019, the web page returns this error: Error: Server was unable to process request. ---> 2 OLEDB Errors Occurred: 1. Does Visual Cobol 6.0 support .NET 5.0? I'm asking this because today we started a new project (WinUI3) with a Visual Cobol 6.0 project in the solution. Because of WinUI3 I have to set all projects to .NET 5.0. Everything builds successfully, except for the Visual Cobol project (which I also set to .NET 5.0). I get the error that the dll I want to build cannot be found in the \\ref directory. Is this a known error message? Or do I need to upgrade to a higher version of Visual Cobol?

A previously fully operational VS and VC 6.0 system is throwing this error. Windows 10 system was powered off for a few weeks.  Hardware clock displaying the current year as 2013 had to be adjusted. Uninstalled and reinstalled Trial license, no improvement. How can this be resolved to use the remaining time on the VC 6.0 trial license? Thanks!

Hi , I'm trying to compile Visual Cobol and call them from Linux Shell , I'm new to Visual Cobol.... Here's 2 questions 1.  I created a [COBOL Project] and Newed 3 COBOL Programs named Program1~3,      and [Run As] - [COBOL Application]. but it only executed Program1.      How can I execute Program2 or Program3 directly? Like I can run a Java Program if It's a Main[] Class ? 2.  How to execute COBOL Program from Linux Shell ?      Compile Java Programs made .class files and I can run it with Shell Command. What's the runable file for Visual Cobol ? Can I extract in a program the following: "C:\\Program Files\\Micro Focus\\extend 10.4.1\\AcuGT\\bin\\wrun32.exe" And if I update to a new version will it automatically get the new version?

Dear all, We just converted our zOS cobol version 4 into Micro Focus COBOL  V6.0 revision 000 on Linux.   the XML PARSE won't accept empty attributes. Do we need to test for xml-text length, or is there a setting to tell the parser to ignore empty attributes? Thanks James

IBM Terminals have an "Exit field key". This key will do the following; 1) Erase the field from the cursor position to the end of the field 2) Tab to the next field My question is; Can this functionality be implimented using the ADIS configuration utility and can said functionality be assigned to a key of my choice?
