MultiValue Tools

Hi,I develop solutions using SB+ and there are some common variables which are imported into just about every BASIC program that I have. Some examples are;       $INCLUDE DMSKELCODE COMMON      $INCLUDE DMSKELCODE STANDARD.EQU Can someone please tell me why my "INCLUDES" configuration is not working? COMMON Variables such as RECORD, WORK, CNT, USERDATA() etc are not detected and I get Errors in VSCODE such as;"Referenced undefined variable: RECORD" Please see below a redacted version of my configuration. I believe the key parts of the configuration, namely the ACCOUNTS and INCLUDEMAPPINGS are configured correctly. { "version": "1.0", // If you want to connet to a U2 server, you need configure the settings in "db" section. // If left these settings empty, you still can use most of the features. If so, // when try to connect to a U2 server, you need input these values in VS Code pop up input box. // For more information, p

we are experiencing some strange reactions in Accuterm like : In a Textbox, Multiline, enabled with word wrap.   In the projects properties we have chosen the button that says “ Same as Tab, except for multiline text or command button” on the “traits” tab.    When we use some of these fields (nearly most) when we use the “RETURN BUTTON”  the field did noy simply do a line return but closed the screen down The same type of field on the first screen works ok as expected Grid boxes have problems when using Combo Fields on the first column

I have two bp file that both exist in Github: IO.BP and WEBAPPS.BP.  I have a subroutine in WEBAPPS.BP that I am updating in vscode.  It has this include statement “$INCLUDE IO.BP IO.INS”  vscode still shows all the variables using that file as undefined variables.  I have tried adding them to the includeMapping, but it still doesn’t fix it.  Both folders exist in c:\git-workspace\IO.BP and c:\git-workspace\WEBAPPS.BP.  This is for Universe. I also tried adding the folder to the workspace. How can I fix this in vscode?

Using AccuTerm 8.1.1.1136 we are connecting to a windows 2022 server running OpenSSH server.  Connection works and we can log in but the AccuTerm escape sequences are hit and miss. For example we can issue the escape sequence to run on the caps lock without issue, but when running the escape sequence to turn off the caps lock nothing happens.  The sequences are “ESC:STX:L” for caps lock on and “ESC:STX:M” for caps lock off.I turned on data capture and can see the correct data getting sent for the caps lock on, but either nothing is sent or the wrong sequence is sent for the caps lock off.We can run “ESC:STX:?”, “ESC:STX:I” and get the correct responses.Trying to change the terminal size to 132 or 80 characters, “ESC:STX:E” and “ESC:STX:N” nothing will happen. We have tried running Bitvise instead of the Windows OpenSSH server and had similar results.Changes to terminal type, character set/code, SSH configurations and more have had no changes. While we are connecting to an OAS instance, I

Greetings All,  I am running into an issue when using Accuterm. I just switched my internet provider to Startlink.  Startlink for home use does not have a dedicated IP address so I am using a GL.Inet GL-SFT1200 router that I have a  wireguard tunnel running on the router. I also I can log in direct from my PC using Surfshark with a -dedicated IP with no issues when connecting. When using wireguard I am able to connect but get an error message - "WED requires AccuTerm 2000 or later to run!  "  I am also trying to print to port 9100 to the wireguard but have not gotten far on this.  Am I missing something in the set up?  Thank you in advance.

I understand that UV14.1 has a compatibility setting in uvconfig which allows it to support versions of SB+ before SB+6.5.0. Has anyone used this functionality and more specifically with SB+5.5/SB+5.4? If so, are there any things to be aware of? Thanks in advance

This is for a UNIVERSE environment. I've tried setting the account to use in servers.mvbasic.json, as it is using XDEMO by default at the moment which causes the authentication process to fail. I need to manually specify which account is used. Looking at the logs, it appears this is passed in during the "connect U2 start" stage as accountName, but both this and account seem to have no impact. Is this controllable?

I have been struggling this for a few days now. This works of course in Terminal. When you right-clock on a program in VSCode, the bottom  two menu items are Catalog and Compile. I have researched this and it would seem several configurations need to be in place.  I do have the ssh configs set up, the BP file in the workspace, but it never finds the file or the program. Does anyone have the steps to rectify this? Thanks in advance,  Roy.

Hi, I've been trying for a few weeks to get MVVS to work with Online Editing. I'm able to log on to my server and see all the different accounts and their files; however, when I try to open up a program, I get an error message saying the file could not be found. Further inspection into the logs revealed that there is an error with XToolSub. The error is U2 XToolSub logon account exception, {oldAccount: TESTACCOUNT, newAccount: XDEMO com.rs.mv.mvvs.common.exception.MvVsException: failed to logto account Is there something that UV admin has to do to allow for the logto to succeed? Any help would be appreciated.

Are there any plans to add JIT privileged access management to Accuterm for Linux in the future?

When doing REST calls with MVIS, I understand how the u2version field works, get it when you read, and then send it back on updates so that MVIS can know if the record has been updated since you read it, implementing optimistic locking.  Wondering if there is a function that can be called from U2/PICK Basic to generate this same value manually.  We are working on some custom PICK code to read/write data in response to MVIS calls.  We'd like to use the same concept with the u2version field but calculated via PICK code on a certain item in PICK/U2.  We'd like to be able to generate this field manually for reads and then verify it on updates.  Should only add a couple lines of code to our existing routines if there is a way to easily do this from PICK.  Looks like maybe the CHECKSUM function would do this, just wondering if this would generate the same value as MVIS u2Version. EDIT: After doing some experiments with CHECKSUM looks like we might be able to do

Hello everyone.  I am new to the forum and have just upgraded to UniVerse 11.3.5.  I was told there is a tool MVX (Multivalue Performance Experience) that can be installed and was hoping to find out if anyone is currently using this tool.  I would like to know more about it, before I decide on whether or not to install it on my system.

I'm trying to format the following lines:     $INCLUDE ../T24_BP I_EQUATE     $INCLUDE ../T24_BP I_COMMON     $INCLUDE ../T24_BP I_F.CUSTOMER     $INCLUDE ../T24_BP I_F.COMPANY And I get as result:     $INCLUDE . . / T24_BP I_EQUATE     $INCLUDE . . / T24_BP I_COMMON     $INCLUDE . . / T24_BP I_F.CUSTOMER     $INCLUDE . . / T24_BP I_F.COMPANY Any way to exclude spacing for a path? Or add a parameter in format.mvbasic.json to allow ignore formatting for some lines?Ex. specify ignore formatting regex pattern:"ignore.format": [ ".*$INCLUDE.+", ".*$INSERT.+"]

Accuterm GUI when you define multiple columns in your drop down list. Is there a way to wrap the text in a column by separating the multiple lines in that cell with some  character. I have tried  char(10), char(13), the pipe symbol. I am trying to get this to work like "word wrap" in a grid. In the third column I have multivalued data, that I would like to wrap in each cell. Can't find anything in the manual to give me a hint.

There was a wIntegrate update planned for early 2024, but it appears that didn't happen.  I see now a "committed" update, v 6.3.5, for August 2025. Where can I find information on what's included in the update? Oops, sorry, I meant there is a committed update version 6.4.5, that is scheduled for August 2025.

Greetings Fellow Members! My co-worker and I have a issue with SB+ that we are banging our heads because we cannot find a solution. Below is a snapshot of the problem   As you can see,  our "PTEXT" is not getting opened, here.  However,  this is happening with other files, like our "HELP" and "DEFN" files.     Almost all of are users are using GUI, but this has popped up with one or two users who use the Character mode.  To make this more interesting, the following could happen:  This doesn't happen all the time.  When the user clicks on the "Continue" button (Sometimes they have to hit the "Continue" button multiple times), the error message eventually goes away.      Lock up their session and need to kick the user out. I have checked the VOC pointers and they are correctly pointing to the correct data files and dictionaries.  We believe it is coming from our SB+ interface and/or other processes.  &nb

Hi, Does anyone know if there's a function in "Universe Basic" to get the cursor position (row and column)? Thank you very much.

No supported signature schemes exist SSH.   I know that upgrading these to 8.1.2 corrects the issue, but we have over 200 installs of AccuTerm that we need to upgrade, but would like to upgrade Solaris first.  Any solutions?

Can anyone suggest a video showing how to use a simple HELLO WORLD program in Visual Basic that can be executed and run in Visual Studio Code? I installed the Java JDK as instructed by the Rocket extension but when I run the program it keeps asking me to install the extension (even though the Rocket extension shows as already installed). My simple test program has a suffix of '.vb' but the Rocket instructions said it must be '.b'. Does that mean the extension is only for BASIC and not for VISUAL BASIC programs?!? When I did change my simple program's extension from '.vb' to '.b', I received this message from VSC which I don't understand or know how to correct: Java 11 or Open JDK 11 runtime environment is irregular. Please check your Java environment and settings. Thanks in advance to all who reply.Dan reply to Christian Bristow: Thanks for your reply but apparently, the extension referred to in Stack Overflow is no longer available.

Hello, I've looked online, and from what I can tell: there's no information on either of the question. We've run into an issue where a call is issued, but the operation is terminated or cancelled, but there's no way to signal the same to UniVerse. The other problem we've is: we "believe" we're hitting the maximum connections allowed, which leads to delayed responses on the front end as the call "waits" for the connection to become available again. I wonder is there a way to check the connection availability ahead of time, instead of just sitting there. Thank you!

We are building an Net 6 API using UODOTNET to interface with a UNIDATA.we are using version 3.171.0.08 of the library dated 9-14-2016Data is coming back but  the value and attribute marks are using the same value and it seems to be a wide char value 65533 instead of the regular 253, 254.Code snipit:debugger output:Is there a newer version available(UODOTNET)?Has anybody dealt with this before? Thanks in advance for any assistence wih this matter.Dave Just Dave

MV folks, We have a GUI client that runs only in Windows to access our MV/Universe application - and am looking for input from other MV community members on Windows functionality / partition / whatever on a Mac for some users at a new customer.

I have installed the DBTOOLS BASIC DEVELOPER TOOL KIT but I am having issues. Here is some info and a couple of issues I am having and would like some suggestions or advice on what to do next or what I may have done wrong.  We went through the install steps and see these were installed. The BDT launches but fails to update the subroutines. I set permissions on the folder to /usr/ibm/uv/BP.O to write for everyone but it still fails. When connecting I get the following messages and click OK to update. I have set the permissions to the folder so that everyone has write permissions but still get this error. Since the program launches, I decide to try something simple like opening a program but get this error. The source code does exist in file of the shown in the VOC of CK.DATE. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have one user who has severe mouse problems inside a spreadsheet that has been executed from AccuTerm.  If the same spreadsheet is opened from Excel itself or from the file explorer, everything works normally.  The problem is a severe lag in any mouse commands.  If the user clicks on a cell, it is 2 to 5 seconds before the cell that was clicked on becomes selected.  If the user tries to drag a selection in order to select multiple cells, there is also a severe lag. The user is on the latest version of Accuterm I have which is 8.1.2.1137.  The mouse pattern file is identical to what I and other people are using. Has anyone encountered this before?
