Hi, one of the fun things to do with source code these days is to put it into version control. VS Code makes that easy. One of the biggest version control repositories is GitHub. However, MV basic languages languish in there as unidentified soup. eg the Rocket multivalue-lab home tab language break-down mentions not a jot of MV basic of any flavour. Linguist is the community project which supplies language syntax and ID for GitHub. Its grammar is very close to VS Code's (and the syntax part of the definitions can be controlled by Rocket corporate). Could it be possible Rocket will, one day soon, provide the Linguist definition for some or all of the MV basic flavours? Cheers.

I am trying to use the PictureBox in Accuterm to  display an image of a stock item. \\\\\\\\i can get an image displayed as created at the development of the Form but  can not find out how to change it per stock item. I visited a customer office to install Accuterm on their workstations.  On 4 of the 5 workstations I was able to authorize the AccuTerm using an "Administrative User and Password" issued by their IT department.  On the last workstation I ran as administrator, I entered the user and password when prompted, but when I entered the authorization screen the "Authorize AccuTerm" icon was dimmed and I was unable to complete the authorization.  They purchased a 10 user version.  Does this mean that the administrative user issued by IT was not valid for that workstation?  All the actions leading up to that appeared to be normal and identical to the other 4 workstations.

For some reason this started showing up. It might be a useful feature except that I CAN'T TURN IT OFF!!!!  I've explored all the settings I can find. I found the online documentation where it says I can type "disable code lens" in the command window. I've done that. I even tried to bind the command to a keyboard combo and execute it that way. I've restarted VS code. It's still there taking up half my vertical space. If you're going to add a feature like this you should make it easier to turn off an on.  I shouldn't have to even ask this question. We are running Unidata 8.3 on Windows Server 2022 & Azure Cloud Windows Server. We also operate Replication. Our challenge is to create a scheduled shutdown procedure that will support out of hours Windows Server Patching Shutdowns & Reboots. Hi all, i wonder if someone ever have tried tu build a GUI-Screen in SBclient with TU.FORM.LOAD / TU.FORM.ADDOBJ. Good Afternoon Group, I have an issue with SB/XA.   It is telling me that it "Couldn't create pbclass object FK2.  Object name already in use.  405, SBWIN_99_6*FK2".    (Actually image is attached, below.) I have 2 buttons in my GUI screen.   I know that the F2 is normally "Save" and F4 is normally "Delete".   In my case, I'm using the F2 key as "Generate" and the F4 key as "Exit".    I have used this methodology in the old SB+, but we are going start using SB/XA 5.5.4.  This "issue" is from SB/XA. Can anyone offer any advice or guidance on how to get rid of this?   I have deleted the button and re-inserted it, but to no avail.   The interesting part, the F4 is just fine. Hi, actually I only use VS Code with MVVS to program in Universe, and I found it amazing. I am now starting to develop in D3 and jBASE, but found out that these two databases are not supported in MVVS.    Are there plans to add MVVS support for D3 and jBASE? When setting up a data resource, and mapping dictionary items to the REST interface, seems like I'm only able to map one field at a time that points to a given attribute, in my case it's attribute 0.  We have composite ids, and have multiple dict items that point to attribute 0 with some conversions that pull out what that particular dict item needs.  Problem is that when I try to select say _id (attr 0) and other dict items that point to attr 0, it is deselecting the other dict items when I select a new one.  I'd like to have multiple of these at the same time, but not sure how to do that if it's possible.  In my screen shot, I'd like to select _id, sys_date and sys_time but can't seem to get them all checked at the same time.  Any advice welcome. UPDATE: I was able to get both the sys_date and sys_time working, but it doesn't seem to be running the conversion code and just shows the raw field.  When I run a list in TCL, I get the actual converted date/ti

I have been working on getting MVVS operational via X11 on a RHEL8 server. Recently RHEL put out the following table, indicating that OpenJDK 11 ends full support at the end of this month. I found some Linux text utilities that have a lot better interface than the normal Linux command line.  For a file manager I installed Midnight Commander (mc). It installs and runs great even on Centos 7.  I found another program for managing processes called bpytop (btop wasn't available for Centos 7): There's also a python Library, textualize that lets you develop text applications that look and work very similar to GUIs. The problem with all three of these is that they don't work with AccuTerm at all. I know that when the emulation was written not very many people were using Linux. Especially in the mvdb market. Now, it's the main OS for mvdb databases and so the Linux terminal is now the main standard. It's like the Wyse 50 back in the day. It seem crazy that AccuTerm doesn't work the same as all the other standard programs. Even the Microsoft  Windows Terminal and PowerShell commands work. I end up using cmd or the Linux terminal instead of AccuTerm but switching between applic

Hi All, I am trying out the vscode editor with the MVBASIC extension and I am having trouble with the compile command. Accuterm 8.1.0.1132D3Linux 10.3.4 ,  case-insensitive The compile command will only work if most everything is upper-case and the program will run in a case-sensitive mode which is not my choice. Thanks for the help.

I thought maybe it would be something that would help with MVBasic but it seems to be broken and won't install. I get an error that it cant open ".vscode/extensions/rocketsoftwarebeta.rocket-copilot-10.4.0/walkthroughs/getting-started/Git/start-rocket-CoPilot-for-git.md". I checked for the file and it's not there. There a similar one named "start-rocket-devops-for-git.md".  The extension says it's beta but it looks pretty alpha to me. Shouldn't someone at least try it before putting it in the VS code marketplace? It looks bad. I'm not sure I know enough to know if this is a dumb question or not, but... Has anyone attempted to make the MV Basic for VS Code plugin function with an Eclipse (the ERP system built on top of Universe, not the IDE)? Would that require customization to work with "Eclipse syntax"? Many years ago we changed our web-based software to support prompts, menu items, and help to support multiple languages. We did that by using a number for the prompt like 2300 was "Customer Name". Depending on the language you would go to the matching language file to translate the 2300 number to "Nombre cliente" for Spanish and "Nom du client" in French for example. In the 18 years we have demoed this to United States-based companies nobody expressed any interest until last week. This  client would like to have code files like  Code A1 equals Apple or Pomme in Spanish Code Z1 equals Avacado or Avocat in Spanish Our Universe database has a file called Fruits in this example. So my questions for those who have done this are: Do you add a field for every language? Do you add a multivalue field for every language? Do you change the value in the file to a number and translate it to a language field? Do you add a file called Fruit_ES for Spanish? Depending on the method chosen, how does

Some things I'd like to see. Ability to manage (view/edit/git) MV source that exists in hashed files - VOC, Dicts, etc. (maybe like the SQLTools extension). Code folding support. Option to format document so auto code block folding works. eg PROGRAM/SUBROUTINE, labels and RETURNs are hard left, comments and everything else indented to a minimum of the default margin, etc. Fix use of code folding markers [this can be manually set but something is interfering]. Set default markers - eg !!#region...!!#endregion Addon for xterm.js (vscode shell and ssh emulator) to support [some] SB+ character mode customisations (term type 2). The Rocket MultiValue team is happy to share that we've released version 2.5.0 of the MV BASIC for VS Code (MVVS)!   You can now compile and catalog BASIC program files directly in Online Editing Mode, and even process multiple files simultaneously.  The benefits of online editing and compiling include simple sharing mechanisms, simplified build mechanism, access to modern IDE features and quick setup with pre-installed runtimes, SKDs, and dev tools in VS Online.    Currently, you can find this feature in the BASIC Developers Toolkit and we've included it for your convenience in MVVS.
