HelloI want to use the FORMAT command from TCL for formatting BASIC code.  It works perfectly and formats my code with a margin of 6 spaces and indents of 3 spaces wherever it is needed.From my dim and distant past, I seem to remember being able to specify a different margin and indent, but I can't remember how to do it.There doesn't seem to be any command-line option to do this.  My recollection is that to do what I want, I need to update an item in a file with the required margin and indent (perhaps VOC?).Can anyone help me with this?Thanks.Philip------------------------------Philip EllisRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

Has anyone used AD authentication for ODBC connectivity to Unidata/Uniobjects on Redhat?Working on a project to migrate from AIX to Redhat Linux.  AD authentication for users to login via ssh to the server and run the application is working.  But a small subset of the users have ODBC connections from Excel/Access for some critical pieces.  Authenticating with a local account works, but for various reasons the goal is to eliminate local accounts on the server and have everything controlled by AD.  There's an error when connecting via ODBC that is hard to diagnose - I do see some errors in /var/log/messages that look like a process is core dumping, but nothing in the Unidata logs.Anyone doing this successfully and have hints about what made it work?------------------------------Ian McGowanPrincipal ConsultantRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

is there anything that describes the differences between universe and unidata, in particular keywords, and anything related to coding.  I am starting to look at unidata (once I get it setup) and was wondering if there were any documents specific to coding in unidata versus universe (I am going from universe to unidata).I can't imagine there being that much or difference, but I could be totally wrong.  My plan is to get it installed this week-end and then start writing some code in unidata so any advice would be appreciated.I have downloaded the unibasic reference manual as well as a few others as I begin my "experiment" of coding in unidata  (speaking of which is there not a unidata file of all the manuals like there is in universe?  I have been downloading one by one the documents I feel I will need but it would be nice to be able to download 1 file of everything.any simple "gotchas" would be welcome and a document detailing the differences would be AWESOME.  and for now my concentrat

As I've mentioned, I am on Universe, on Linux, using Accuterm. There is a format in these programs I've inherited that looks like this....FPATH='C:\\Users\\kathleenh\\Downloads\\'DOC='2022-Farm-Market-Application.pdf'PRINT CHAR(27):CHAR(2):"<":FPATH:DOC:CHAR(13)Don't really understand it, but don't need to if it works - which it does :)But what I am trying to do right now is move a doc (jpeg, xlsx, word, pdf, whatever) from either a network spot OR a c drive location to another spot within a basic program. I tried using a '<' and then a '>' for the two locations but that didn't work.My question is does anyone know how (or if possible) to use this feature (which I think is Accuterm) to move a file from one location to another?OR......What other functions / tools would work to do this? Obviously the user has to have permission to both files. Since I can do the above command to either the C drive or network drives I imagine access is not the issue or holdup - just my ignorance. I

Can Unidata do SFTP?  I have written socket language interfaces to SMTP and others.  Is it the same type of interface for SFTP?  I'm having a hard time finding the direct interface commands it needs.  I can connect and get info from the socket but it never asks for User name/Password.Most of the google results point to using WinSCP, but i'd rather do the commands myself.  Anyone been down this path?------------------------------David GreenComputer ProgrammerRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

I am running Universe 11.3.4 on RHEL 7.7 using AccuTerm 7.3a as my emulator. When I login normally my backspace works. I need to use root permission for some of my phantoms. At TCL prompt I will SH to Unix level then su to root then uv back to universe. My backspace key quits working.  I can manually fix it by running a PTERM command. I have a UniVerse customer, a county highway department.  Over the years we have accumulated a lot of lat/lon coordinates for different resources.  I would like to propose adding a GIS interface to the system.  My question, has anyone already done this to any multi value database and can you suggest products to research?  I have looked, a little, at ArcGIS because they have some low cost online training.

Reading the documentation for @ Variables, it seems inconsistent for @DAY to come from the established @DATE, yet the other, similarly named variables should be based on the current date. Years ago, in a different forum, someone posted a proc/paragraph they called LSELECT that, as I recall, allowed you to take a select list of values for a specific attribute in a file and select all the records in that file that contained any of the values in the select list. It was very clever.The machine I installed it on is long since off-line. If anyone else has it, I would love to recreate it on the machine I am on now.BTW, i am using Unidata 8.1

Hi allI've been doing some experiments accessing UniVerse data via Python for some time and I had my own library before the official Rocket uopy utilities were available to me.One thing I implemented is my own custom representation of a UniVerse record as a Python dictionary and I was wondering if it would be useful to anyone. Maybe I can add it to the Python github.Anyway, I'll explain the logic in my implementation and why I still use it in some places instead of the "natural" DynArrays.My implementation stems from the structure of a lot of the data we use here, as a lot of records are sparsely populated (I use to call my own records "sparse records" to differentiate them from the DynArray)Example: A register with 90 values, which only 4 contain real data.
