We are working on making our application compatible with PostGreSQL. As the data in postgresSQL is updated/inserted using function we are getting the error from postgresSQL when trying to create table with more than 100 columns. Has anyone seen this situation? what is the best way to resolve it?

Hi Unifacers,is there a technical reason on getting an error $status = -13 while using $dirrename or $ldirrename when the directory to be renamed is under current user full control but is NOT empty? I mean a directory on which current user has full control and it is NOT in use by anyone, neither is the current directory for actual process, neither has NO lock on it but it contains at least one file.When NOT empty my expectation is maximum to get a warning, NOT an error.AFAIK from direct experience on:- Windows (either with letter disk or UNC)- DOS (today = Windows Command Prompt)- Unix (all flavours)- VMS- compressed ZIP filesthis limitation does NOT exist working directly at interactive (command line) level.I do not have enough experience on iSeries. Is there someone helping me on iSeries about this context?Those instructions are almost NOT usable with that limitation!Thanks in advance for any answer.Regards

So, we use stateless client server behaviour, and call (almost) all services as activate/stateless, also (almost) all operations are supposed to end with exit(0) not return. However, someone has obviously missed one, and we are now seeing entries in the urouter for servers "with context" which will hang around until the client which caused them logs out.It is becoming imperative that we can identify what this 'context' is, so I can fix the program. I remember asking Daniel a while back (3 years?) and being told that there was no way of finding out. Does anyone have any clever techniques or ideas? It's something the user does a lot, because as soon as I clear one, up pops another. There are no records holding locks in the database which might give me a pointer as to which programs to look for. I've got nothing to go on. Iain

Hi,We have had an internal security scan run on our environment and flagged a number of Tomcat 9.0.X vulnerabilities and advises us to upgrade. Can anyone advise what version of Tomcat 9 (or 10) is supported on Elucid 9.7.05 and if there are any steps/instructions to do so? First of all, I´m happy to working with Uniface again, after almost two years.Dear all,I have an entity that has a field defined as C* (in Oracle CLOB), and RICHEDITBOX as widget. Now, this field should be access from outside Uniface. How can I create another field without RTF controls that are stored when RICHEDITBOX is used widget? So, we recently 'solved' some display issues for the web (date formats) by applying the $nlslocale based on the locale of the client browser. Unfortunately, this has re-introduced the issue which has prevented us from using $nlslocale since it's inception. Namely, when one uses a structure such as :-activate servicename.operationname("ID=%%vNumeric%%%", vOutparams) or vInparams="ID=%%vNumeric%%%"Which are rife through our system (parameters as strings to get past the old urr update issues), then pNumeric is passed formatted (with a thousands separator), and therefore any number over 999 is not passed to the service correctly. I know I can 'fix' this by doing :-vInparams = "" putitem/id vInparams,"ID",vNumeric activate servicename.operationname(vInparams,vOutparams)or by using $concat or similar within the activate, but the problem is endemic to the system, and changing them all is not going to be easy

Hi FreaksIm just writing two programs.One used as an interface where a user can retrieve a entity (Table of persons).Then he/she can sort and check all or a few of them to "work" with.The worker/background-programm is the second one to which I pass the entity by an entity-parameter.Works perfect but ...But I want to pass the "check" status to the background programm, I run into a "trouble"I define a non database field (with this extra inf) in the entity to hold such information.And this non-database is not passed between the componentsHave a look into the documentation and yes only database fields (or the UF10 is_external=True) are passed between component.So any idea how to pass such information from one component to another?Okay, I could pass a UIL (UnifAce Item List) in paralell to the entity, but this is not a "good programming" to have parts of the same record (=entity) in different var

Hi Unifacers,I am requested to try to configure 3 different basic modes for Uniface entity grid different usages, while leaving original logical widget egrid into .ini files untouched.Differences are quite simple:; The original one:- Egrid=egrid(font=editfont;labelfont=editfont;bordertype=flat;bordercolor=silver); The new ones:- Egrid_std=egrid(font=SansSmall;labelfont=SansSmall;bordertype=flat;rowheight=16px)- Egrid_dense=egrid(font=SansTiny;labelfont=SansTiny;bordertype=flat;rowheight=12px)- Egrid_rare=egrid(font=SansLarge;labelfont=SansLarge;bordertype=flat;rowheight=20px)Now with first tries I've found more issues:1) During development I cannot see my new logical widgets available to apply them to an entity.2) If I force them into repository I do not see them working properly: neither fonts or row height.3) After having applied solution #2, reentering with into component using it show entity widget as "(Unknown)"

Setting up a connection to an MS SQL Server instance using an ODBC Data Source defined as User DSN or System DSN works fine. But in an environment with dozens of server environments and hundreds if not thousands of clients, User DSNs and System DSNs are hard to manage and distribute.File DSNs could be a solution to that problem, they are easy to manage and distribute, but ... I can't seem to get the Uniface MS SQL Connector to connect to an MS SQL Server using a File DSN. The Internet is full of examples of how to create a File DSN, but I couldn't find any example showing how to use a File DSN in e.g. Excel either.Anybody having success with File DSN's for the Uniface MS SQL connection? If so: what does the MSS path definition in your .asn file look like?

With uniface 10 and the Uniface 10.3 IDE Utilities, i have errors when i try to create table script.22018 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'T' to data type bit.Why are thoses errors only when i try to create table script.P.s Entities was imported from 9.7

Hi,I am new to uniface tech. I came across a performance issue in a uniface screen which has Select All button which when clicked by user it will color all the records with grey color to indicate they are selected (just like excel) but it takes more that 5mins to color all the records (10,000 records) with each record having 12 fields. Hello guys,XMLTRANSFORM, an operation of component USYSXSLT (Uniface component that provides services for transforming XML streams at runtime using XSLT stylesheets) does not return any status after the transformation is done. It returns an empty value/null instead of a negative one or 0 and the transformation is not done. Have you ever faced that issue? We did an upgrade from Windows Server 2012 to 2019(on the Citrix) but we are not sure if this has caused the issue. Thanks in advance for any help.Dominik

I am looking to find the equivalent of 'detach from template' in UV10. I can't seem to remove the inherited from component, or change the inherited status. I suspect that if I could, I'd have to copy/change all the code from the template as well. Is there an option somewhere which duplicates the old function? Sometimes I want to use the template as a starting block but then change out some stuff. (Like removing panels and menus, rather than replacing them). 

We have imported forms into Uniface 10.3 from Uniface 9.7 and they are not listed under a project. When we create new forms or modify existing forms (or other objects) do they have to be under a project? How does having forms under a project influence how they are compiled, deployed and run?
