Good evening, I am testing the programmes following the upgrade to Uniface 10.4.3 and am encountering issues when calling a service located in another repository.For example, from application A, I call it using `newinstance "MY_SERVICE", LV_HANDLE` and get error code -58.MY_SERVICE is referenced in the ASN in the [FILES] section as MY_SERVICE.SVC          \\server\qxsrv10\PROJECT\SVC\MY_SERVICE.SVCI can’t find a solution.Has this happened to anyone else? Anna Lisa

Hi FreaksWe have an archive system (not written with Uniface) consisting of a server and clients. The server and clients communicate via HTTPS. The server also allows a third-party system (in this case, a Uniface application) to communicate with it via HTTPS/REST.That works so far.Now I have some very large files that I want to download from the server. When I use the archive client, a PDF file over 400 MB in size appears in seconds.But when I try to download the file in Uniface, it takes over twenty minutes!What is slowing Uniface down so much here? We are using DLL's with COM interoperability in our Uniface application. Up to today we use C# / .NET Framework 4.8, but want to switch over to C# / .NET Core to be more in line with all other written applications written in C#. I managed to create a (relative) simple DLL with .NET Core, publish it and create a Type Library. I can import that TLB file into Uniface 10 and compile the signature. But when instantiating this component I get an error stating “Unable to get COM type information for COM class”. What could be wrong?

HelloWe have installed Uniface IDE locally on every developer laptop/pc.I wonder where the tabs (editors?) are saved as you also see the components edited by other programmers?Is it possible to see only your own editors?Regards RogerW

On out development server, we have several installs of uniface for different uses (devel, testing, ‘live’ etc.) Some of these I can tell apart in the “Programs and Features” because they are different versions or patches. Others I cannot. Having just uninstalled the wrong version in an attempt to fix another problem, the question is. Is there a trick to naming the installations inthe Programs and features MMC so we can tell them apart. The info gives us version and install date, but not install path, and I can’t see any sensible way to differentiate them. Iain

Currently in our version control system, we have exports of each component we generate in Uniface, which are then imported during check out and then exported during check in.  In our migration from 9.7 to 10.4, one of the things I would like to do is do a full export of everything from my 10.4 repository to put back into version control.Individual components are pretty easy, as we can name the component we want to export and pass that to $ude, since we know the name of the component from our version control system.  What I would like to be able to do is from within Uniface, list all of the components programmatically and then for each individual component, export each component to its own XML file for check in.  Is there a way to list all components or even all objects in the repository programmatically? 

Hello all, We are currently in the process of upgrading from Uniface 10.4.02.052 to 10.4.03.019 and have noticed a difference in behaviour with our HTML widget that we are not sure how to resolve. I believe this is probably due to a newer version of the CEF framework that is included in this release. I know that Uniface is not responsible for CEF functionality, however, I wonder if anyone has encountered the following issue or can suggest a solution.... We have a form component with a HTML widget on it. We communicate with a third-party via REST APIs and they send us back the URLs of a number of images, and we then update the HTML widget to render these images. The URLs to these images are stored on a CDN. Whenever the HTML widget renders these images the following error is recorded in the message frame: HTML Widget: Third-party cookie will be blocked. Hi freaksI was forced to upgrade ourWindows-Server and SQL-Server to Version “2025”No problem but now, when I connect (from our application) the first time to the database it takes 8 secondssql/print "SELECT top 1 1 FROM aTable", "DEF"Profiling on MS-SQL give me no hint, as the duration of all action are a few microseconds.Using procmon results in this picture UnifAce connects and deconnect several time. Every reconnect last 0.5 seconds so in total we are near the eight seconds (measured by counting aloud)So what’s going on here?As I said, it's really just the simple SQL/print statement, nothing else.Oh yes, when I start the IDF, I got thisWhat happens here for about two seconds?Thanks for any hintIngo
