Rocket® D3® and jBASE®

Hi there.Hope you can help!I am trying to setup the profile so that when the user click clone on a tab it will autologin. I have tried recording a macro and then replaying the macro but this just opens a new window without connecting the terminal or logging in.If I go to script editor and press play it works as intended but I need this to work by right clicking the tab and cloning with an autologin. I am running AccuTerm 8.1 standard. Any help much appreciated!!Thanks

Accuterm seems to allow greater that 31 days in a month for date fields !! Traits for a form - if we select return will wok in a multi line text box - we seem to just complete the form - not stay in the multi line box anybody seen these problems and are there answers ?

Just putting this out there. I’ve had a couple of cases where people upgraded D3 to 10.3.3 or 10.3.4 and started having weird problems with MVSP. In both cases, we upgraded MVSP to 1.8.21 and it solved the issue. When upgrading D3, it’s not good to simply restore your existing MVSP account, especially if you’re going to 10.4. Anybody out there ready to upgrade, please contact me so I can get you the MVSP 1.8.21 version and help you install it. The reason it’s not posted in the RCP Downloads is because the pseudo tape is NOT a patch but rather an account-save, and the steps are different. We can post all day long, but afraid that the instructions will not get read and someone will try to use it as a patch. Most of you know where to find me (bcram@rocketsoftware.com) and many of you already have my cell phone number. If you can’t get to me by other means, just reply to this and I’ll reach out.

Is there any ETA on when MVSP for Linux - specifically .NET is going to be available? Thanks! g.------------------------------Gene BuckleSr. Programmer/AnalystPly Gem Pacific WindowsUS------------------------------

A couple of posts outlining how I go about importing and exporting things, I use /etc/passwd as the example as I needed a script to move some users over. I have a bash script to do this but moving more of my workflow into Pick is my goal.  Importing into Pick: https://krowemoh.com/devlog/importing-linux-files-into-pick-.html Exporting out of Pick: https://krowemoh.com/devlog/exporting-pick-records-to-linux.html ------------------------------Nivethan ThiyagarajahProgrammerAsynchron Systems IncToronto ON CA------------------------------

Hi Guys, So we're migrating to D3 we have had initial success following the online documentation but just wondering if anyone else out there has done the same and has any tip or advise for a smooth transition. Watching videos, starting to use the cli. for example, I want to find the customers table (correct my terminology if you don't call them tables).  I entered "listf" didn't see a customers table. Saw users ...entered list users..saw the system users. Cool How do I find the accounts or folder where the customers /cust table lives? If you need more info, please let me know thanks ------------------------------Bret SternPresidentRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

Before upgrading 10.4.0 or earlier versions of D3 Windows, shut down and do a "standard" uninstall of D3. This will leave all of your data and Device Manager settings in place. This is necessary because of a bug in the 10.4.0.1 installer which will not allow installation of the D3 services once the upgrade is complete.------------------------------Brian S. Hi everyone, I'm very new to Host Access and D3. We're currently working in a D3 Pick environment using the TCL (Terminal Command Language) prompt, and I need to learn everything from scratch. I do have access to Rocket Software's D3 reference manuals, but they're quite large and a bit overwhelming to read cover to cover. Could anyone please suggest the best places to find learning materials - especially video tutorials that cover basic concepts, TCL commands, creating simple programs, and understanding how everything works with real examples? I really prefer videos or more practical, hands-on resources rather than just manuals. Thanks so much in advance for your help!------------------------------Rima PrajapatiSenior IT SupportRocket Software Forum Member------------------------------

I have a few vb apps in place.  My latest one of works in vb 2022 but fails when when I install it in on another computer. Here is my code bit: Global:  Private MVSP As MVSP.PickPrivate MVSPFunc As New MVSP.Functions In form load:    Try       '  pool = New rocketsoftware.MVSP.PickPool()        MVSP = New MVSP.Pick       Display("Run Time Type" & MVSP.GetType().ToString)   Catch ex As Exception       Me.Show()       Display("MVSP Failed to init")       MsgBox("MVSP Init Error" & ex.Message)       BtQuit.PerformClick()   End Try The mvsp = new line is failing with error msg: Init Error int path is empty. I installed the d3client 103.4 on the computer, as well as c++ runtime. Nothing changes. I also installed .net 8 runtime  with the install. I recently was part of a discussion regarding the use of parenthesis with a SELECT statement. My understanding was that parenthesis were not evaluated with respect to AND and OR logic. Is that correct? Looking in the online documentation, the only mention (that I could find) regarding parenthesis use was in relation to OPTIONS. Specifically the the open parenthesis indicated the beginning of an OPTIONS clause and that a close parenthesis could be used to end the clause and that the OPTIONS clause should always be at the end of the statement. If that is the only allowed use for parenthesis then: Why are parenthesis allowed to be used at all in a SELECT statement as follows:SELECT FILE WITH 1 EQ "ABC" AND ( WITH 2 EQ "123" OR WITH 3 EQ "XYZ" )This command executes without an error? Using a file with the following records: TEST..... A1....... A2... 100        A         1200        A         2300

Ever get on a D3 system and run WHERE LZ looking for stuff but get barraged by PIBs in some normal status? I got tired of that and wrote a BP that goes through WHERE LZ output and strips out the trivial stuff. Posting it here for anyone's use, but also to get opinions on improvements. I have an Access database that currently connects to the SQLDEMO tables. That's great. When I look at the server running D3, I see the SQLDEMO folder in the D3Databases folder. Fine So now I want to connect to some live data. Specifically the inventory tables. I have lots of documentation, but I can't seem to find the steps to make the tables visible to my odbc dsn. The folder I think I am after is the MISPR folder. If I'm correct, how do I get access to the values in the tables? I was told I need to define a translation table..yes/no Regards ------------------------------Bret SternPresidentRocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

What's the most efficient/fastest way to securely get data in/out of a jBase system? The last time I had to do this, we wrote a CGI interface and accessed the system via HTTPS. This time, we have no need for the full CGI environment, we just need to parse some JSON data, and return a JSON response.  Similarly, MVIS is overkill. Is there a "jClient", like there is with qm? We could just listen to a port, but the inbound connections will be coming from multiple clients, so we really don't want to run multiple transactions through the same process. We like the statelessness of separate connections.  Since jBase apps compile to OS executables, the current thought is to establish an ssh connection, with keys, run the appropriate routine, return the JSON and then exit.  We're wondering if there's something simpler.  ------------------------------Raymond DeGennaroOwnerSelf RegisteredBelvidere IL US------------------------------

I recently discovered that d3vme /fileload on D3 Windows does NOT build indexes in the FSI accounts. VME accounts only. This was discovered when working with someone who was using d3vme /fileload on D3 Linux 10.4, since entering d3 from a Linux prompt then taking the F option is no longer the way to restore the system. The problem was further masked by the fact that list-index DOES show all of the index references even though the indexes never got built. This is because the index references in a file's D-pointer (file-defining item) get restored when the file is restored, but no further action is taken. The way around this is to run indexer from TCL in the DM account after the file-load is complete. Indexer reads all of the index references in the D-pointers and builds the indexes accordingly. As of now, we are treating this as a documentation issue since this has always behaved this way and the work-around is quite simple. I would appreciate any comments from anyone who uses d3vme /fi

d3 all versions. To my knowledge, this has been around forever; but it has always been something I thought was totally inconsistent: File A and File B are related to each other. An attribute on File B is a mv. From File A I wish to use a dictionary item that returns that File B attribute; and so use a t-correlative such as:T(FILEB;X;;n)where n is the integer amc number of the attribute on File B I want. This works perfectly if n is single valued; but if n is multi-valued the result is all the values delimited by a <space>; not returned as a mv. Why? It strikes me this is entirely inconsistent with mv principles. Now, with that said; is there a way around this in a dictionary item [apart from doing a call subroutine] using F or A type syntax?
