Hi Team -- I am new to the CICS part -- looking guidance /pointer I got the BMS,CICS and cobol module -- along with the CICS Extract from mainframe -- How can I proceed with migration -- any document /video is available -- As I mention - totallty new to the CICS part so looking from the basic/step by step process.

My company currently uses Net Express 3.1 and will be migrating to Visual COBOL within the next several months.  We use the SPZERO compiler directive on majority of the programs we migrated off the mainframe several years ago.  This is due to having spaces in numeric fields on the old mainframe data files.  At the time of migration, it was better to use SPZERO than to modify the files/programs.  I read in the Visual COBOL documentation that SPZERO has been deprecated and is not supported in Visual COBOL.  Is there an alternate way to accomplish the same behavior as SPZERO in Visual COBOL? Thanks,Ben#VisualCOBOLautoscalemodescreenresolution#COBOL#netexpress

Downloads Product availability Matrix (PAM) Downloads of this patch are available from the Rocket Customer Support Portal.New Feature(s)Uniface UX has been enhanced with a new entity-level widget, ux-Accordion, which organizes occurrence data into a stack of expandable and collapsible sections. If you're not using the edist installer, updates to the usys.ini, web.ini, uproperties.ini are required to include the widget definition. Note: Templates have been updated to include support for the accordion widget. To use the latest templates, import the updated utemplates.xml file. For more details, please refer to the documentation.UX widgets now support removing properties from object definitions during layout processing using the new removeProperty() API. This ensures that properties are passed only to the appropriate widgets and prevents irrelevant warnings. Hello, Rocket Software support already was not able to find out any information on this. Basically, back in 1992, Computer Corporation of America purchased System 1032 from Software House. We are currently still running a database on an old OpenVMS server. It works fine for most things but eventually, I would like to get onto something more modern. Trying to find information on this old and obsolete software is a bit of a pain. Looks like back in 2010, Rocket Software aquired Computer Corporation of America along with System 1032, though they no longer support it. Looking online, there are some different methods on getting the database migrated. The most promising one, is using a System 1032 ODBC driver that was around at some point. However, I am not finding any source to download it. So I figured I would come on here and see if anyone has any experience with System 1032 or has the ODBC driver somewhere that they could give me to use. Thank you in advance for any help!  Lucy

As a follow-up to Dan Lam’s post in July entitled, “ContentEdge (formerly Mobius) – New Release...”, we wish to advise that Mobius 12.6.2 is now available. ----------------------Customers planning an upgrade to a current version of Mobius should note that the Apache Tomcat version used by Mobius components has been updated to address a security vulnerability. Starting with version 12.6.2, the embedded Apache Tomcat instance that’s included with Mobius Server has been upgraded to Apache Tomcat 11.0.25 to remediate a security vulnerability affecting the previously shipped Tomcat version. Customers who deploy Mobius View/Rocket Content Explorer to their own Apache Tomcat environment must also upgrade their Apache Tomcat installation to version 11.0.25 before deploying this release. Deployments on earlier Tomcat versions might remain exposed to the security vulnerability addressed by this update. Note: This requirement applies only to customer-managed Tomcat environments hosting Mobius Vie

We are running Universe 11.3.1 on AIX 7.2.  I have 9 production accounts, mirrored on development and test LPARs.  That all adds up to thousands of files.     Formerly we used Fast c/s to monitor the entire system and stay on top of undersized files to prevent application slowdowns.  Unfortunately, it is no longer supported.Does anyone know of a similar application or product we could use?  If so, could you speak to the efficiency, ease of use etc.?Thanks in advance.

Hi there,Have been through the online coursework related to UX widgets as we are keen to go down this route and have created a custom UX widget. It is rightfully recommended that any custom widgets extend from their uniface out the box counterparts (ux-TextField → ux-PLATextField) so they inherit the standard behaviour.Am having some difficulty achieving this though as it seems theres some disparity between what we have inhouse and how the training laid it out (.JS-wise) and the Fluent web methodology. Is there a supported way to import the standard widget class or is inheritance through the global UX namespace? Does the loading order need to be taken into account?Any guidance appreciated, thank you

Security doesn’t stop at the login screen.Cypress 9.6 introduces two enhancements that help protect both user authentication and sensitive documents after they leave Cypress.Secure LDAP (LDAPS)Cypress can now use an encrypted LDAPS connection when authenticating users against corporate directories such as Active Directory. This protects authentication traffic that previously travelled over a standard LDAP connection.  Password-Protected PDF ExportWhen saving a document as PDF from the Thin Client, users can now add a password. The exported PDF is encrypted and can only be opened by someone with that password- useful when sharing sensitive reports, contracts or other confidential documents. Together, these enhancements strengthen security at two important points in the document journey: when users access Cypress and when sensitive content is shared outside it.What security requirements are most important in your Cypress environment?Share your thoughts below. 👇

In all my years of using UniObjects for Java (UOJ), I have not paid attention to memory leaks in my syntax. They existed I am sure, but why bother if the process is pretty quick and was getting re-used by the web server. Of course, I would make sure that I closed files or make sure that I close sessions. I have a Windows machine running a 3.5 gig of memory that has been working for years. This year (2026) I upgraded the web server from Apache Tomcat 9 to Apache Tomcat 11. I upgraded Java from 17 to to 25. It was painful because of the Javax libraries which are no longer supported at this Java release and had to be replaced with Jakarta libraries. All of the all other libraries like BIRT, our Unidata/Universe Report writer, required updates to run in Java 25 as well. All of this increased my war file size by at 25%. That does not sound much but on this particular machine the margin of error was gone we would run out of memory several times a month. Every minute or so depending on what the

Had a customer report today that there’s a strange bug in the SB+ expression parser.  The sample he provided was this:IF(1,170,””)”MR2”)The spurious ) at the end should be a syntax error.  But it is not.    As long as all quotes are “, this returns either 170 or “)”MR2 depending on if the condition is true or false.  It also gets converted in EEGC as follows:IF 1 THEN   VALUE = 170END ELSE   VALUE = '")"MR2'ENDThis is not a crisis, but I wanted to post this in case anyone else happens to make the same mistake we did, with that extra “)” at the end of an expression.

Greetings Rocketeers! We are on WIndows, preparing to move from Universe 11.xxx to 14.xxxHave any of y’all made this upgrade recently?  Were there any functional issues after upgrading?  Is there a test plan available anywhere we could get our hands? Many THX,

We are having trouble connecting via unirpc (MVQuery) to our Unidata 8.4 (Windows 25) server.  My work PC does not have a problem.  While RDP’d into the server, when I try to connect to an account, I’m getting → So far, 2 other PC’s get the same message.  I’m trying to setup logging/tracing for this.  I’ve placed ...\include\ud_database into TRACE_LEVEL=2.  If this is producing output, I can not find it.  What else can I do to track this down? Thank you,Jonathan WellsAptron, Corp.
