Many years ago we changed our web-based software to support prompts, menu items, and help to support multiple languages. We did that by using a number for the prompt like 2300 was "Customer Name". Depending on the language you would go to the matching language file to translate the 2300 number to "Nombre cliente" for Spanish and "Nom du client" in French for example. In the 18 years we have demoed this to United States-based companies nobody expressed any interest until last week. This  client would like to have code files like  Code A1 equals Apple or Pomme in Spanish Code Z1 equals Avacado or Avocat in Spanish Our Universe database has a file called Fruits in this example. So my questions for those who have done this are: Do you add a field for every language? Do you add a multivalue field for every language? Do you change the value in the file to a number and translate it to a language field? Do you add a file called Fruit_ES for Spanish? Depending on the method chosen, how does

Some things I'd like to see. Ability to manage (view/edit/git) MV source that exists in hashed files - VOC, Dicts, etc. (maybe like the SQLTools extension). Code folding support. Option to format document so auto code block folding works. eg PROGRAM/SUBROUTINE, labels and RETURNs are hard left, comments and everything else indented to a minimum of the default margin, etc. Fix use of code folding markers [this can be manually set but something is interfering]. Set default markers - eg !!#region...!!#endregion Addon for xterm.js (vscode shell and ssh emulator) to support [some] SB+ character mode customisations (term type 2). The Rocket MultiValue team is happy to share that we've released version 2.5.0 of the MV BASIC for VS Code (MVVS)!   You can now compile and catalog BASIC program files directly in Online Editing Mode, and even process multiple files simultaneously.  The benefits of online editing and compiling include simple sharing mechanisms, simplified build mechanism, access to modern IDE features and quick setup with pre-installed runtimes, SKDs, and dev tools in VS Online.    Currently, you can find this feature in the BASIC Developers Toolkit and we've included it for your convenience in MVVS. Hi all,   Is it possible in AccuTerm to call another project from a command button in a different project. I have developed a Customer Maintenance Project with 5 screens and a Customer Enquiry Project with 7 screens. But my customer has now asked to be able to Call the Maintenance Project while in the middle of an Enquiry when they have noticed a problem that need updating, i.e.  wrong phone number.    can this be done or do I need to redevelop my whole maintenance again inside the Enquiry. In AccuTerm Tools Tab -> Settings -> Connection -> Secure Shell there is an option for Authentication -> public key In the Private key submenu, there are several options to find the private key. I don't see any outside authenticators such as  ssh-agent and/or pageant.  Can AccuTerm be configured to use one of these ? Windows now provides ssh-agent. Pageant has become a defacto standard for this.

Every time my [Windows 11 pro] PC is rebooted the "Unidata Database Service 8.2" and the "Unidata Telnet Service 8.2" are both Disabled and have to be re-enabled and then re-started via the Services window. It's funny but the "Uni RPC Service" is not affected. Hello, I am trying to integrate a webhook from a third party company in Universe 11.3 on IBM AIX.  The third party company asked for a URL to send their messages and I thought I would be able to build this through RESTful Web Services developer and a Unibasic subroutine.  I  setup an input parameter and hoped it would contain the return data, but that did not work and the parameter was not being populated. Is the RESTful Web Services the best tool for this?  If so, how can I parse the return message (below) in my Unibasic subroutine, so I can update my database?  If not, any tools/ideas you can recommend? I have this old memory that there is a way to install a subroutine or some program in SB+ 5.x that will allow passwords to be evaluated for length, content, complexity, etc.  I can't find any reference to it in any of the documentation; does anyone remember this or is this a faulty memory?

Hello, Accuterm 7.3.  This is probably a Windows 10 Pro (on a VM accessed via RDP) issue but it involves running Accuterm scripts.  This is Linux D3 via SSH. I have an scott.atsc file that does the D3 Linux login/logon for me and starts my scott.atcf session. When I double-click on that directly, all is good.... works from the desktop short-cut, and also from "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atwin71\\scott.atcf", and from "Scott Ballinger > Documents > scott.atsc"  (I copied the .atcf and .atsc files from "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Atwin71\\" to "Scott Ballinger > Documents", although who knows where the "Desktop" or "Documents" folders actually are in the Windows "one-drive" universe (as in internet file-space, not UV)  anyway? So I dragged-and-dropped the desktop shortcut to the task bar and "pinned" it there. Hello Everyone.  I am giving this a try and one thing that is throwing me for a loop is the server connection.  We have used the "BDT" tooling in Eclipse for a long time, and with that solution we could specify the servicename parameter from unirpcservices configuration.  There doesn't seem to be an option to do this within the configuration files for MV BASIC in VSCODE.   Can anyone tell me if there is an undocumented property for this?   For our environments here, we have the defcs/udcs entries set to 5 seconds timeout.  This causes the MV BASIC connection to almost immediately get disconnected.  We have alternate services defined with longer timeouts, which with UOJ, Eclipse BDT and UOPY connections we can choose this value.   Thanks in advance, Aaron------------------------------Aaron TitusSenior ArchitectF W Davison and Company Inc. Hello Rocket Community Hoping you can help. We use Wintegrate emulator for our Dealer Management solution. Has been in production for over 5 years. Was working fine yesterday, today user is not able to download xlsx files to folder. Can download text, csv etc, via same executable and folder destinations. Message displayed is: There was an error during the transfer: Unable to open or create local file. Message is displayed after clicking OK on folder where file is to be stored to. We have had this happen to 3 computers, 2 some time back, a 3rd computer today. User is able to save and open / access the folder and files in the folder, error exists in Wintegrate only. I have a GUI app that loads a delimited file into the AccuTerm GUI data grid. In the grid designer I only have one column and that one column is resizeable.  When I load multiple  columns by sending it a multi-valued header with multi-sub-valued data lines, the column widths all default to the same size. I notice that I can resize each individual by double clicking the separator on the header line. My question is, can I send a command to tell the GUI runtime to resize all the columns based on the data?  Some of these files have 50+ columns so having to double click each one is tedious. I'd rather just have them automatically all set to fit.

Was looking to find a way to keep an eye on MVIS performance.  I found Perfstats_PER_REQ.log file which is pretty close to what we want.  One line logged per MVIS request, contains source IP info, account that the request was directed to, wait time, execution time and total time, almost everything.  The one thing that is missing is the subroutine that was being called.  If that was there, we'd have a good chance to keep track of subroutines that might have a long ResponseTime consistently and could look into it further.  i've looked at the mvis.log file.  Trouble with that is that it doesn't have a lot of information in diagnosing performance issues at the subroutine level unless the logging level is turned up to DEBUG, which causes quite a bit of noise in the log file.   Wondering if there might be a way to more directly tie an entry in the PER_REQ.log file to what subroutine it was calling.  This would help at least to know which sub would

I have an MVIS dynamic array defined that has 24 items defined, whose locations are 1-24. However, when MVIS send these to the subroutine, I am seeing 4 <blank> values coming in that I cannot account for: Yes                    <--location 20 No                     <--location 21 F24                   <--location 22 <blank> <blank> <blank> <blank> 220557            <--location 23 6.00                  <--location 24 I have tried deleting and re-adding the last 3, restarted the integration server & even changed the order of the fields but it continues to send the 4 blank values. Any ideas of what might be causing this?  It has been fine up until this week when these last 3 fields were added. Hello friends and colleagues! I am running #AccuTerm v8.0.1026 with a premium license issued by Zumasys. This version doesn't show any updates available and I have questions about features and the futrure of this software. 1) Almost all of my work these days is with #Ubuntu Linux and AccuTerm continues to satisfy most needs. I'm hoping to integrate AccuTerm more with the OS, and see this fine application being referenced in Linux-centric circles. Does Rocket have a similar vision? 2) These days it wouldn't be "too" tough to convert critical host code from FP.BP to JavaScript and run from shell, ideally with NodeJS rather than MV. Is anything being done on that front? 3) Since AccuTerm responds to escape sequences from the host, any host, has there been any effort to define or wrap common features at the OS level to invoke functionality in the client? For example: CHAR(27):CHAR(2):'>notepad.exe':CHAR(13):CHAR(27):CHAR(2):'I' That sequence from BASIC can easily be sent from the Linux

often like to use VSCode to quick view some projects to pull snippets from them. Attached you'll see two jpgs of the same file generated by my software using D3 Linux 10.3 and Accuterm 7. The bottom file was received by the Thunderbird email client. The top file was received by the Yahoo email client. The Thunderbird client and another MS product have also received the files as Chinese characters. The actual file that my software generates and then emails in the body of the email is the Yahoo file. Why, pray tell,  is this happening and ONLY with this customer's system? None of my other customers are having this problem. I've been setting up a new machine using Universe 11 and Centos 7 as the host OS and AccuTerm 7.3.2034.0. The Universe programs are all working but I've been having trouble with WED.  When I try to edit certain files it just locks up. The WED editor displays but with nothing open. If I click on it i get "A request to the MultiValue database server is pending....  Clicking on OK just re-displays the message.  The only way out is to click on the cancel button on the Server Mode status window. Once I click on that WED shows a message "The requested operation could not be completed: server not running".  I can click on that and WED goes away but the AccuTerm session is locked up. If I reset the terminal I can get back to TCL. I've tried everything I can think of to  fix it: I've checked all the terminal and stty settings.  I've tried installing older versions of AccuTerm I've tried to re-install the host programs, (That no longer works) I've tried moving the

Is there any way to disable the whole-screen copy when there is no active selection? When pressing Ctrl-C (or Ctrl-Ins if that's what's defined in settings) with no active selection, the entire screen gets copied. If you then hit Ctrl-V it pastes the entire contents of the screen. This is a big problem because it you accidentally hit Ctrl-C then Ctrl-V when editing, you end up with garbage in your file, and if there was a "fi" on the screen it becomes permanent, requiring restoring from backup. Example - after the first "12", I intended to hit Ctrl-V to paste in "r/7/9" and instead managed to hit both Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V at the same time, which ended up pasting the contents of the screen and filing some records I had intended to edit that are now in a questionable state. Thankfully this is a tame example and I will be able to correct them without restoring from backup, but it's still frustrating have to do cleanup. I've been trying to create an updated Universe box using Rocky Linux. When I tried to connect with AccuTerm 7.3 it tells me there's no supported key exchange scheme. I'm not sure but I think it's because Rocky Linux removed the two ciphers that this version of AccuTerm supports, triple DES and blowfish. I found a post where Pete mentioned that there was an update to 7.4 that had support for newer encryption standards. I was wondering if that's available anywhere?
